Some info on battery saving by Oppo Singapore
10343533_748183291879102_5618775510775818968_n.jpg

The power manager isn't that useful IMHO, but the data manager is very useful cos u can control the data the apps use in the background, which normally requires root to do and even with root, I only know of apps like AFWall that can control data/wifi to the individual apps all the time, not just during background times.

Ok, posting some observations from my REAL WORLD usage since last Friday.

Pros:
- Overall UI is very snappy, I find opening apps and closing them has no lag at all. Better than my G2 which is considered one of the faster one around except Sense UI. I think ColorOS is as snappy as Sense.
- The UI is also very intuitive. Every function is set out nicely and is very easy to see them. The animation is also very smooth and nice, though looked a bit like iOS.
- Camera performance is superb, focus is instant and shutter lag is non existence. Picture quality is also very good, the auto exposure is very spot on and white balance is also quite accurate. In comparison to G2, the focus and shutter lag is noticeable and photos always appear underexposed.
- Screen is damn nice. Yes it is not 1440p as many wanted and some may have given lots and lots of negative comments about the phone and ME about my lousy eyesight and why I say no need 1440p. Yes my eyesight may not be bionic but at least I gave comments based on the actual usage of a device and not by searching through google and forums to give comments based on subjective self esteem negative spam and slamming a device and promoting something that is not even available in real life to actually see or touch (eg. 1440p screen).
- Screen is sharp enough, and I can't see the difference between 400ppi and 440ppi of this and G2. Maybe I can see diff in Find7 538ppi screen but YOU MUST BE AWARE that Find7 only has 200mah extra batt juice and higher clocked CPU, so having so much PPI and faster CPU will make the Find7 definitely a lousier battery performance. Also, since the batt is same size, you can actually pop in a find7's 3000mah batt into a find7a and enjoy the longer batt life!!!
- Screen is very bright! So much so I only adjust it to only 20-30% in outdoor usage. Anything above 50% can really burn eye balls!
- Speaker is very loud! and not much distortion at high volume. I am not a audio expert but it is one of the better speakers around, not including HTC one to the comparison though.
- This phone charges damn FAST! With the supplied VOOC charger, it charges the phone 1% every 30seconds. Even with a normal 2A charger, I can charge from 20 to 100% in less than 90minutes! Thats impressive!
- Batt life is ok so far for me. Can last full day on a regular work day with Whatsapp, 3 emails accounts pushing, 4G LTE, facebook, linkedin, surfing for about 2hours, 30mins of talktime and 30mins youtube. The typical work load on a regular work day and left me with around 20% by end of day. Not the greatest but it is sufficient. Not forgetting I can have it full again in 30mins before I knock off from work with the SUPER VOOC charger.
- Screen sensitive is ok for me so far. I find it sometimes too sensitive and press on a app when I just scroll through home pages. I realised if my fingers are a bit moist, the sensitive is very strong. If its dry, then its ok. Probably the Clasy tempered glass SP helps a bit but I guess its more of getting used to than to be known as a faulty screen.
- Data Saving is very well implementation. It lets me choose which app to be able to run in background or consume data when the screen is off. Very nice!
- We can set the monthly mobile data limit on our phone and it keeps showing the latest stats on the notification page on the amount we used for the day as well as the remaining quota left. Nice!
- GESTURES: This is one of the best feature of the phone. Everything works well and works flawlessly and efficiently. I have configured them to work the way I want to interact with the phone. Eg. drawing a up arrow on the blank screen calls my wife. Drawing a W opens up Whatsapp. Draw a V opens torchlight. Draws a down stroke opens up Phone app. Draws a M open Google Maps. Very COOL and its working very well. Very useful when driving. No need to press power button or double tap to on screen and then to slide to unlock and then to tap the app to do something. I can do a task in just 1 stroke on a blank screen! Now this is what I call SMARTPHONE!
- Wifi and Mobile Data radio: Many has claimed that the standby batt life is not good. I personally experienced that it tends to drop 1% every hour on standby mode. And I know it why! Its because this phone has the MOST POWERFUL Wifi and LTE signal I have ever come across. Better than S5, M8, G2, Note3, Ip5...whatever high end phones out there. Here's how I tested. Every morning I like to use the phone to read the latest news and US stocks info in the toilet with my phone and my toilet is located at the farthest end of my house from the Router. I always need to off the Wifi and turn on the LTE as the wifi signal can't reach to the toilet of my house. Its either only 1 bar or cannot connect at all. With Find7a, the Wifi signal is still full bar! And tested with Speednet, I can get 150Mbps up and down from my broadband plan of 200Mbps! That's awesome and nothing like this has happened before with all my previous phones.
The throughput on LTE is also very high. I realised webpages also load faster and the slow coach Facebook also loads faster with this phone in LTE. I guess OPPO has increased the power output of the Wifi and LTE signals, that's why the standby battery life suffers because of this.

Cons:
Some Cons I want to share.
- Batt life on standby not that great but still can get thru the entire day. Reasons as above.
- 5.5 inch is still a tad too big to be used on daily basis but somehow it is negated by the gesture features.
- Camera does not have OIS. In daylight, it take great pictures, better than Note3 and better than G2. But in low light or indoors, since it has no OIS, you often end up with blurry pictures if you do not have steady hands. Probably the hit rate for me is around 60% sharp photos whereas when I use G2, I can get 90% sharp photos.
- The notification LED while is damn nice and chio, it only shows blue colour. And not only that, it does not indicate when the battery is fully charged, so I have to always turn on the screen to see. Probably OPPO can resolve this in next firmware to maybe make the LED always on to indicate battery fully charged instead of keep pulsating and not sure if its full or not.

I guess that's what I have for now. Hope this mini review can help those brothers decide whether this phone or Find7 meets your needs.

By the way, I definitely agree that Find7 is a better phone with better screen and better specs. I am not defending my purchase and then giving negative comments to stop people from getting the more expensive variant. It's your money, your choice and I cannot stop you from buying anything you prefer. What I am saying is whether 1080p or 1440p screen is sufficient for daily usage. As of now only Find7A is available, of course no one can test or see the actual screen of Find7 as of TODAY, so all comments on how great that SCREEN is are all rubbish. Use what you have now and if you think you want that one, then wait for it.

Agree with most of newouverture's review. UI is fast, overall phone is also damn fast. Camera is pretty good, night shots I feel loses to Note 3, but day shots, still need to compare though, so I'll save my judgement.

Speaker is ridiculously loud and clear too. I had to turn off Maxx audio or else in office my notifications makes everyone stare at me.

Phone charging even with a normal 2A charger is also very fast.. it's like the whole phone is optimised for charging speed man. Batt life is pretty good, almost as good as note 3.

Gestures for me is a mixed bag. Because I got the flip cover, everytime I open the flip, I'm already in the homepage so no chance to use the gestures much. Wait till I get a TPU case then gestures will be more useful to me.

Will need to check on the wifi strength thingy though, my experience was that it's similar to my other phones, didn't find any further improvement in terms of wifi.

Nice review.. btw the notification led Will stop blinking when the battery is full, it will stay blue color. When reach 100% the led will still blinking, need to charge a bit longer then it will fully charged and the led will stop blinking.
