I guess so. Or I not regular enough......
They had to cut back ln the discount when i told them i using maybank. Ultimately still cheaper lah, with the cashback.

Hmmm ... I kinda suspected.
Not sure if this is true but I was told that in these tie-ups with credit cards and banks, the rebates are actually given by the shops, not the Bank or credit card companies. These rebates will be like "advertising costs" to the shops to the credit card companies and Banks for promoting their shop.
So for walk-in, they may give. But for their regulars where the discounts already eat into their profit margin, unlikely they will get the same discount + the rebate as well.
