Mind I ask is Mazda 3 considering the 'cheapest' comparing to other brands aka model with similiar specs?
they are very agressive, the last 2 time they price their car at the lowest price possible... i must say it is cheaper compare even with the Kimchi!

Comparing it with altis 2014, it's cheaper.

Comparing all other like features, looks etc, all comparable and nicer imo.

I think this model might have a cevs rebate of 5000.

Can do a simple calculation
OMV for Mazda 3 is about $18,400
ARF 100%. $18,400
Excise duty 20% of OMV. $ 3,680
Your COE(amount u bid). $57,000
Total. $97,480
Dealers profit (estimate) $ 5,000
So if your dad paid. $102,480
Mazda still made $5k from the sale, if your dad paid $97,480
Then Mazda is really desperate to move their stocks.

actually, it's 10k cevs for mazda3, whereas altis is 5k. in other words, mazda3 has lower paid ARF n thus lower paper value.

Wow! Din know mazda 3 is 10k cevs rebate as most other 1.6l sedan mostly falls into 5k rebate..

Does mazda 3 has a arf of more than 10k to rebate ?

mazda3 4dr, 1.5l, omv 18.4k, cevs 10k, arf paid 8.4k, min parf 4.2k.
mazda3 5dr, 1.5l, omv 18.9k, cevs 10k, arf paid 8.9k, min parf 4.45k.
toyota altis, 1.6l, omv 18.5k, cevs 5k, arf paid 13.5k, min parf 6.75k.
note: based on LTA's Mar's data.

mazda 3 has very good handling and with my dad having owned the previous mazda 3, it was very reliable and the only issue we had was the aircon. Fuel consumption isnt a big issue as he travels around 30k to 40k a year.

So he didnt compare specs or wat and went ahead to buy. He got the "basic" model though, as a old man, he didnt need the "better features" the deluxe model offered, like in-built gps, commander control, reverse parking camera..etc..

newer mazda 3 comes with 6 gear auto with manual overide, which i think should be better for those who hate the CVT to the core.

Edit: mazda 3 does indeed have 10k CEVS rebate.
