If laptop is a gamer notebook it can be a desktop replacement. Many such notebook in the market now so just need to google. My notebook is one of them. My speed and ping are good with no lag.

yes, ipv6 is enabled.
You will need an ipv6 capable router, and and ipv6 capable client.
Check your router manual.

Though frankly, there are not many websites using ipv6, and will be many years more before it gains enough traction.

Guys,

Can any of you get 15MB/s ~ 23MB/s speed for Bit Torrent on M1 200Mbps Fibre ?

I already replied to you in the other thread. You don't believe huh? :s22: :s13:

Actually, 100M fiber is good enough for most people.
Anything more is a load of marketing crap.

If you torrent, max speed is cap by ISP to the most 3.5Mbps.
If you use Google Drive/Dropbox/Youtube, the max download speed doesn't exceed 12Mbps, I think.

If you use Wi-fi for your notebook, tablet etc, your max speed
is about 50Mbps.

I've yet to see what can I do on the internet that can make
full use of my 200M fibre, asides from doing Speedtest.net
to see 190Mbps on my lan wired notebook, just to feel shiok
for a minute, then for the rest of the day, seeing less than 25Mpbs usage. I'm not a gamer. What kind speed do gamers
achieve on during their gameplay?

BT speed from last night. Speeds usually above 15MB/s. Max is ~ 23MB/s. Note, the figure in the screenshot is Mbyte/s

M1 200Mb/s plan.

As for WiFi, internal transfer from my microserver (wired) to rMBP (ac wireless) via acn66u router, speeds are around 390Mbit/s. So for a 200Mb fibre plan, the wireless is not the bottleneck once you have the right equipment, but the internet connection.

One more for the collection

Btw ... speeds on a Mac Mini using HDD, not SSD.

is it a good deal to renew my current M1 100Mbps to 200Mbps at the same price now? did anyone do it? do re-contractors also get the free bundles, e.g. router, 1GB MData etc?

or should I wait until the next IT Show to get better deals with bundles etc?

If your contract not yet end, can just wait for SG Tech Show 2014 (29/5 to 1/6) and PC Show 2014 (5/6 to 8/6). Who know the 3mth / 6mth subscription free promo might be back ...:)

Cool. Wondering what to do with the router. Won't use it. Hard to sell it, since most people already have it.

use it as wifi adapter for your computer...

generally speaking, a wifi router should have better wifi adapter performance then the typical external/internal wifi adapter.

FREE 12 months' MiBox subscription (24 months contract)

Is MiBox compulsory to get? Or is it possible to opt out from the start?

Dont get! I regret getting it.. After 13 months, you need to pay $8 per month compulsory till 24 months. If you terminate on the 13 months, you still need to pay the penalty of $8 x 12 months ($96)

There is NOTHING much to watch in the MiBox. Not even local TV station like MioTV or Hub TV. It serve more like an Android box that turn your tv to a half "smart" tv.

You can opt out at the point of signing up.

Airport Extreme (6th Gen) and White ONT

Hi, I'm planning to get the Apple Extreme 6th Gen and was wondering if I can just simply replace my current HG256 with the AE instead. Will there be any issues if I connected the AE to the ONT directly? Thanks!

If you're on HG256, the data is VLAN tagged. unless your Apple Extreme supports VLAN tagging with the profiles like that of the Asus routers, You can't just replace it or connect it directly to ONT. at the end of the day, if you're still using the HG256, your bottleneck would be that device as it only has fast ethernet ports, meaning that you only get 100mbps tops.

Plus poor WiFi coverage.
