that quote about the movement being inferior is a myth methinks. a lot of folks speculate that because the latest coaxial movement 9300 claims advantages over its predecessors. but i have yet to hear the older callibre planet oceans (before the current gen) break down.

no one has the numbers to prove it except omega, but of course they won't deny or confirm any rumours - it helps sell more new watches.

the contradictory bit is that if they did release inferior movements, then its a sign of a very poor craftsmanship.

i personally don't think thats possible, if anything the new movements are probably cheaper to produce (and more accurate)

i won't worry about the straps. original jaeger la coutre reverso 18mm strap for costs $450 - fabric, non leather too. but you can get better for much less with more colours and materials.

round + many buttons = lots of watches

maybe keep surfing and honing your tastes by surfing the web. maybe start here.

and of course you can't go wrong with a rollie (rolex) or speedy (speedmaster). when in doubt - buy used !

haha yes bro, im looking at sgroc forums to see what i can get. but then for the prices there, how do i know if they are good deal? google the actual price? quite like the omega seamaster series, is what im looking for haha

in fact seiko and sturmanskie also made it into space earlier than omega.

Read on SG ROC, there are lots of negative comments on the service and support of Sinn via THG. My experience with THG is still pleasant.

well omega service centre you queue up with kids who are there servicing their swatch

i think sg rent too high, everyone cut costs. hospital dentists etc.

Were you wearing it, put in winder or leave it in the box?

1 of my watches runs faster when placed in winder. Runs ok when I'm wearing it in the day and placing it on the table top at night.

when 2014 watch...you pass to next generation...when they want to service after 20 years or 30 years ? 2034...they still can find spare part.

Haha I can personally vouch that THG doesn't give two hoots about u unless you are a super regular high expenditure buyer. SINN on the other hand I can also say that they care and does provide top notch service. They solved my problems for me no questions asked.

What is tudor's stated variation range? I'd think -13 is out of it. I'd let it run for a week if it's brand new and try different resting positions over night to see if you get a position that speeds it up. If say you get a -3 secs overnight, that gets it to -10 or better and more bearable.
