I have this lower back problem for the past 3 months already. Whenever I run, jump, stand for too long and carry heavy stuffs, my lower back aches. I have been to the MO and Polyclinic 3-4 times and the response is the same -- there is no big issue with it, and they keep on giving me painkillers and some gels to apply. And not too sure why, but at the same time my legs become weaker as well, feel aching whenever I climb the stairs (2-3 stories only).

Recently I went to one of the hospitals for appointment. The doctor simply told me to go for some physio therapy for 4 months before re-assessing me again if I need to go for a MRI scan because he deemed my back and my legs are "too weak". I argued back stating that I never had back and legs problems before NS and throughout my whole NS journey and the problems only appeared 3 months ago. The doctor simply ignored and keep emphasizing that it is because my legs and my back are "too weak", which I find it quite absurd. So now I am wondering in the past how did I climb up 16 stories of stairs without any issues, or carry heavy stuffs without any issues.

So for now what should I do? Should I follow and go for 4 months of physio therapy and if it doesn't get better, go for MRI scan?

Sadly, going ORD real soon, by then need to pay everything.

Thank you.

if your doctor recommended you for physio, then try physic first?

Physio will not immediately treat it, but slowly over the months will improve.

Even if you go for a MRI now, your pain also won't get better as the next step of therapy is again physio. Able to down pes or not, right now is still too early to say..

it cld be u r really weak. I mean the intensity of NS training vs those heavy lifting, climbing at which i dont think u r doing it on a daily basis etc..

what is ur normal workout routine like. build up ur glutes, hamstrings n cores. And soon u will find out these problems gone

i do not agree with you on this.

because the doctor suspect is weak back and weak legs, thus the physio exercises will be tailored to strengthen the back and legs.

but if TS's condition is not due to weak back and weak legs, but is instead (for instance) slip disc, then all those back and leg strengthening exercises that he did would have been for nothing.

well... the back strengthening portion might still be relevant though, depending on the specific exercise used.

worst case scenario is that TS's condition is not due to weak back and legs, and not only did those back and leg strengthening physio not help at all, it might TS's true condition worse.

did you fell down or did your back get hit by something before?

cos naturally ppl is going to assume that it is simply a case of weak back and legs if you did not fell down or get hit by something.

Yes...

Weak legs and back? Honestly I still find it hard to believe this because I never had back or leg problems until the past 3 months. But lets see how...

You mean the intensity of NS training made me weak?

If the "injury" happened during service, maybe it's time to file a service injury report

suggest you do an x-ray scan at polyclinic using your 11b to see if there is any spinal defects. MRI is really to see if there is any nerve impairment and it is the last and most expensive diagnostic tool. why do physio when you don't even know what is the problem
