hi. i hv a mbp with this prob. when os loading, goes up to desktop and it gives a grey screen there. so i tot gave it a few mins. but after 30 mins i still see the same thing.

then i tot of reformatting via a diff hdd. so i installed mountain lion onto usb. and boot via usb to install on mbp. loading for few secs then it turns blue screen. tried diff thumbdrive also does not work.

also done Apple Hardware Test shows everything okay. though i know its the basic diagnostic. then went to take out the hdd and repair via external drive and onto another macbook. still fail.

wad seems to be the prob?

Probably a graphics or display issue. Is yours a 15" or 13" MBP?

Most likely logic board issue.... As if u able to boot from USB, then it's harddisk issue....

Your logic board needs replacing, GPU is probably failing / failed.
