What are your PC specifications?

You can follow SimonLam's advice to update your router firmware version. After update, try to perform a reset on your router.

IMHO, I think the difference is not that big between TP-WR1043ND and ASUS N56U.

If you can consider to get an AC router in case you have AC devices in the future. Currently more and more mobile devices are using 802.11ac protocol.

Hi renol, thanks for your reply.
I don't know how the ac router works but would a non ac-capable device be able to use the network?.

My main purpose was actually to get dual band since our wr1043 router is currently single band hahaha.

Hmm do you all think the quality drops because they are giving too much bandwidth to everyone, more than what they can afford?

This may be the same reason why all telcos reduce bundled mobile data from 12GB in the past to become 2GB nowadays.

Meantime I am still watching dota 2 on Twitch tv everyday without any problem, multiple streams at the same time.

I think its more of a routing issue for twitch rather than bandwidth issue. Because if its a bandwidth issue, then there would be constant lag, instead of on and off lag right?

Hi Renol, Sorry for late reply. I monitored the situation these few days and realized that the frequent disconnect and no response internet connection only happens at night.

My wife always watch online dramas from this website: Watch Korean Drama Free | Korean Movies Online & Telenovela | DramaFever | KDrama

Thanks !

I will try tonight if possible.

Yes, mobile devices not on 801.11ac are still able to use the network but depending on the 801.11 protocol of the router and mobile devices.

e.g. One have ASUS AC56U router and Samsung Galaxy S3 with WiFi 801.11a/b/g/n. One can still connect the Samsung Galaxy S3 via ASUS AC56U but on 801.11n protocol.

Hey renol, thank for your reply again :p

So its "backwards compatible"? Hahaha.

I'll go discuss with my mum hahaha.

What are your opinions on the tp link archer c7 compared to the ac capable routers from Asus?

My house using their 100M (old plan) and I watch Twitch every night without any issue. High and Source quality, multiple stream at once.

Not sure if will have problem after recontracting...

MR Admin & Helpdesk, the technician came to upgrade to 1Gbps at my home today. And I carried out the MyRepublic speedtest testings. The average download speed is between 250 - 320 Mbps and the average upload speed is between 450 - 465 Mbps.

Please fix the download speed asap. Thanks.

Have you tested with direct connection from ONT?

Hey guys, my wireless seems to be hitting speeds of only about 8mbps whereas my lan connection is still acceptable of around 780mbps. Is this normal ? I'm using the ac56u
