Got superuser means your set is rooted by the seller.

BUT manufacturer is ALPs ?
Something amiss....

Alps makes HTM and many other China phones....Feiteng...etc etc

Check with Xiomi site ...

I need expert to help me check. Suspect fake redmi Note bought from a location. Saw Superuser installed in the phone once open.
Once confirm its a fake, i will post the location.

Dun agree on no brainer.

Mi3 is a snapdragon 2.2Ghz
Redmi note is a Mtk octocore 1.7Ghz.

My best bet is mtk octocore 1.7Ghz = snapdragon 600..as such, hardware is differ.
On top of it, redmi note will b a 720p on a 5.5screen...by ppi is weaker than mi3.

If budget is a concern n usgae is fb n some light game (jeweled games), its fine.

U got use snapdragon or phone at 25k score in antutu? They are pretty lag free except might struggle a bit in graphic intensive games. Both mi3 at 299 n note at 199 are superb value buys. Where u can find? Competitors same specs almost twice as much or more

Check serial no. It's the real one.

Thanks god. No harm made.

FYI: I feel somehow XM Imei/Serial Check algo or database had been stolen as I did check many of XM phones here in China XM website said its Genuine but after some intense checking they are not and the seller also diam diam.

You can install 鲁大师一键测试 to test the phone.

The MTK octacore can run high end games also, it may not be as good as the Snapdragon 800, especially if you use a screen of the same resolution, but at 720p, its close enough. And not everybody needs full HD screen on their mobile phones. Some people are more concerned with the size of their screens. The redmi note screen though 720p at 5.5 inch is really nice and vibrant.

That being said though, both are still incredible value for money phones, especially with the mi3 price drop.

To everybody who just bought the mi3, don't feel bad just because the note is priced at 199 or releasing soon, at just 100 bucks more, the mi3 offers a lot for that extra 100 bucks :)

New story unfold... box imei and phone imei is different. Will try to rectify again.

Does it allow you to do the update OTA?

Those who bought the Mi3 at the latest price should be happy as its much better than Note for sure. Processor and screen quality alone win note hands down. Note is for budget spare phone for most people because of its dual sim function which serve great purpose during holiday in overseas.

My China supplier told me that the algorithm for the Xiaomi authentication probably been decrypted such as manufacturers can churn out a new code which is shown authentic on the website.

Morale of the story is buy from official website. China too many fakes. Nowadays even the software cloning skill quite good. Use benchmarking apps so can't detect..

The serial no of the phone is
