Asus 290 r9 Ref

As mentioned above just upgraded to this nicely priced card.

My question to you guys is :

I know its normal to run 90+ degrees on full load BUT is there anything i can do about it?

My fan is set to 50% limit.

Been looking around for gpu coolers but to no avail.

Nothing u can do except to enjoy the heat n noise. Or go full water cooling.

Yes, you can turn up the fan louder or down clock the card. Which imo you will sacrifice a bit of horsepower.

All ref card like dat de. They will NOT run below 90 degC unless u downclock or unvervolt or set fan speed to very high.

And that is why non ref cooler exist. To help minimise this problem. This is something TS have to live with unless he go sell it n get non ref cooler or go full wc.

Get a none ref card instead. $499-$529 instead.

Not a good idea. It cools the gpu core to 40-50 degC, but it leaves the VRM exposed, with only a 92mm fan to cool it.

I burnt my VRM using that... Even if i dun OC, after long hrs of gaming, it can reach 105 degC.

Gd price,but too bad distro haven/dun wan change warranty period to 3 yrs. If nt, powercolour oso nt bad.

It is one of the best coolers, can fight with giga. And the price is good. Jus the warranty itself is putting some ppl off, due to reselling or rma purpises.

thank you this is what i have been looking for bro! I love the performance of this card @ 429.

All i found was water block editions of 290x.
