hi guys.

just want to check which brand is suitable for warehouse operations. i can say 70% of the time i will be working in the office of the warehouse but sometimes i do need to walk around the warehouse too. Shoe may get dirty easily due to the environment

but still i would like to get a nice yet durable pair.

any recommendations?

Last pair of EU 42 still available though.

Wow, that's a very good deal there. Grenson G1 line is better than G2 line. I just bought their G2 Emily vibram during their sale for $340 (include shipping).

I wearing a size 38.5 (UK 5.5), so it's difficult for me buy shoes online even there is a super great sale offer. Sigh*

While I am no expert on shoe but u might try your luck at English tradition shoe like loake. Usually English shoe width are in their stanfard "F" width which IMHO is rather broad. Their 024 last is quite generous on width. A good place to start with is to head down to robsinson heeren to have feel or their shoe in term of size and last. Then when u have decided on the model and size, you can head online to pediwear or robinsonshoe.co.uk to get them. A headstart below for u on the different type of last they loake offers. Cheers!

Pediwear News: Loake Lasts

P.S. I am not affliaiated to any one of the shoemaker or online merchant above. Just sharing my experience....

thanks for this! I actually got (due to having some vouchers) 2 pairs of Loakes - 771T, F last, and Elland, G last - from Robinsons about a year ago. I find that the Elland fits me better than the 771 actually. I also have a bunion issue so that adds to the problems.

Was wondering if there are shoes with similar lasts I could be looking at - trying to build a proper wardrobe!

But yes I completely agree with you that it's such a pity. Limited by anatomy and well, my shallow pockets heh.

U must have had alot of or high value vouchers. Loakes shoes at robinsons (sg) are marked up quite high. If G fit shoes fit u better then u are def a wide feet guy like me.

Hi,
Can I just find out where is a good place to purchase Loake shoes? I used to purchase from Robinsons and Herring Shoes but there are limited designs in Robinsons and somehow I think prices at Herring Shoes have gone up. Any recommendations will be appreciated.
Thank you!

The major websites will all be similar price. Loake had a price revision either early this year or late last year maybe that's why you observed prices gone up.

Pediwear and robinsons provide free worldwide delivery for Loake shoes so all things equal, I prefer getting from either of these 2 websites. Pediwear also carries saphir products 'cheap' compared to in SG so you can add-on some saphir shoe care items to your shoes order at no extra cost. So something to consider..

The only ways to get cheaper loake shoes:
1. Use promotion codes, if any
2. Wait for sale items
3. Get off ebay

I still enjoy buying things from Herring.co.uk

Yes me too because sometimes I will email them for promotion codes and they readily gave me. Just that I am very surprised that the prices actually went up quite a bit.

Any recommendations for brands with goodyear welted shoes in the sub SGD250 region? Prefer leather interior as well.
Thank you.

I have a similar problem with my Meermins actually. In my case, it's because the layers of the sole are not stuck together properly anymore (probably too many times getting soaked in the rain) and when I walk, the layers slide against each other causing the squeak.

Other than a proper resoling, another way I've seen mentioned online is to knock some nails into the sole to hold the layers together.

This nails method does not inspire much confidence.

I read they can still make noise

Unless the squeaks are as loud as those children shoes which are intended to emit cute squeaks with each step, else is some noise really such a deal breaker? Leather soles are noisy too ma

Thanks... :s13: Should I get the cap toe version as well.... ? :D

This is the classic formal pair a man should own first. Generally used to serious event like interview or wedding and funeral. Though not as heavily ulitised as brown pair but at some point in life you will need them. My first pair when I start my shoe wardrobe is the meermin black cap toe but with medallion, hence not that formal after all....
