1) Is there many jobs opportunities locally? I am guessing not...
2) Is the uni fee very ex?

For game developers, there's a lot job opportunity. Even if you don't go into games, with a computer science degree you can go other IT industries as well.
Which company don't use IT? Hahaha

i'm thinking of applying for BFA in digipen, but idk, heard the industry in singapore is pretty bad. so i'm kinda having second thoughts, would like to hear from you guys and what you guys think.

Bfa final year senior here

depending on what you wanna aim for.

we have double negative and Lucas Ilm - Film Companies
Namco bandai , tecmo Koei , ubisoft - big game companies
sparkjumpers , hongweiglobal- local game companies
tiny island , sparky , omens , One animation - Animation Companies
dream unit pictures - architectural
animation related jobs in the few polytechnics as well

and many other medium to small studios i didn't mention. More studios are opening up as we talk here, my peers are opening their own studios too.

However the reality is, its going to be very tough because the competition is extremely high. It will be very difficult to get into big studios unless you have a very good portfolio. You will be fighting against not only locals but overseas people as well. People from Feng zhu school of design and other companies as well.

Moreover the process of getting there is hell. You will lose nights and nights of sleep, plus no time for social activities. You will stay late in sch almost everyday, come back school on a saturday and sunday to work. And the school fees is expensive as hell.

if you are not really passionate about it, like playing with maya and 3ds max is not fun like a game to you, i suggest you do not choose this path. making art for yourself and making commercial art is totally different.

only if you know what you really want to get out of this, and willing to make those sacrifices, then you apply to study here.
