but I don't know when the market is going to crash

I'm just warning people about the risk of buying stocks which no stockbroker, analyst or financial advisor would ever want you to know

just like when I told people not to bet soccer by explaining the probability of losing is higher

not to predict when the market going to crash

I don't even know if it is going to rain tomorrow

So you're trying to scare people by saying "there will be a crash, everything is terrible", but you won't say when.

That's not useful. You can't invest on the basis of "everything will eventually crash" except to buy gold and guns, and that won't make you rich: it just makes you "that crazy old coot with all the guns".

Stop reading ZeroHedge, dude, it's hazardous to your wealth.

ignoring risk will bankrupt you

by staying in cash position at the peak will allow you to buy at 1444 while others loses 70% of their wealth

So, just to be absolutely clear: you're saying people should be in cash right now, and that this is the peak?

Please let us know your forecasting tracking record.... please provide evidence that you correctly predicted the 2008-2009 crash. Let us also know what you were doing investments-wise, in 2008-2009?

This will greatly increase your credibility and more people may believe you.

I agree with you that we cannot ignore risk.

However, your second statement is not really correct.

1. Staying cash at peak is not necessary a good thing. I'll short and make my money going down.

2. Market peak is not easy to determine. How do you know we are at the peak now? We could be just halfway up the ladder and there is still another 1k points to go. We don't know that, hence we cannot shout "wolf" everytime we see a shadow.

3. In trading and investing, we stay prepared for the crash, but we don't go around shouting doomsday everyday. It would be more helpful if you can teach others how to trade or invest in difficult times instead of trying to spread fear.

I would say there is merit in market timing.. we do not know when.. but we can try ... is it futile?
Staying all in cash is stu.pid. but having no warchest is also not correct.
A word of warning : This guy writes in a very obfuscated way... Most times, I donno what he is trying to say..lol

Anyway.. here is someone who has also gone thru 1 or 2 cycles of market .. old guy who reach financial freedom ..i think..

u dont necessary have to be in cash right now....but u can change the allocation of the portfolio....judging from the insane highs of the S&P right now....i think one shouldnt be more than 50% vested in stocks right now....maybe 40% stocks 40% bonds and 20% cash.
