Local Redmi 1S doesn't come with Xiaomi Market app, but you can install it by going to å°*米主题商店 and when it has loaded, tap the top right option '下載客戶端' to download it.

Will try and see what good stuff they have in xiaomi market. What bothers me is they are mostly in Chinese. Reading in Chinese is strenous.

rooting can remove the nonsense MIUI apps that we dont need. for the extra RAM.

Any power bank will do. Not using xiaomi powerbank. Using yoobao one.

but strangely redmi note users reported no difference in charging speed between 1A and 2A charger.. don't tell me redmi note has a capped charging current..

Did not try myself, so unable to verify..
Maybe because of the SnapDragon in 1S?

I had try but with latest version, it can't be rooted.
With with above link, with Kingo root and Frama root... no chance.
Dare not try the MI3 rooting method, afraid to brick my phone until I have a spare one.

BTW, this phone battery really suck, very bad and yes it gets hot easily.
Other than that, so far so good even when using it overseas.

Can have different notifications tone for Whatsapp, Viber, BBM etc.
But if it can't be rooted, can't use Link2SD and foldermount to help to move data and apps to SD card.....
Hope some gurus can provide rooting method soon.

Easy to root, but at your own risk

IMO, even after rooting, is it good idea to remove the MIUI apps? Those are excellent apps though. Regardless, MIUI is taking too much ram itself.
