less than 2k budget may be better to consider other cheaper alternatives..

You can go retailers like SK jewellery, soo kee etc. to take a look, sometimes they have promotion and you might be able to get a good deal. My friend got a 0.3+ carat ring from lee hwa (if I remember correctly) for under 2k during promotion.

And how come you are buying so last min? Should have started looking 3-6 months ago.

Based on past posts and buyer reviews here, JP has never been known to overcharge, if that's your concern.

If you don't mind a less perfectly cut diamond, sure can go a couple of hundred dollars cheaper...

Think can forget about JP ady cuz don't think you can get it in time. Have to go to normal retail outlets to get le. Deal good or not depends on your own one. Better question to ask would be, would your other half be happier if you got it from JP, can she tell the difference, etc. To me, buying a stone is never a good deal. But if it can make my other half that much happier if I do get from JP then I don't mind getting a better one.

I think the price is reasonable. But then again, I agree with the rest. You might not get it in time cos they will need to make the setting according to your sizing and this takes few weeks at least. By 6th Aug should be impossible.

The safest bet would be to look for those jewelry retailer, lee hwa, goldheart, sk etc. unless you can push your proposal date back then I will ask you to consider JP

The lady from jp was very good she told that it could be ready on the 4th of august.

But actually i asked around this few days and realise that for the spec i have with jp... it could have easily cost me a few hundreds more out there....

Anyway i placed the deposit with jp liao... hopefully all is good and pray for the 6th of aug

Wow they able to commit to get out for you in a week's time? If I'm not wrong, they actually send the diamond to Hong Kong to create the customization.

With a budget of 3k, you may look into range from 0.35 to 0.39 which should be costing 2k+ for the diamond only and with setting of 550 should be around your budget.

At your budget, u can get a GIA triple excellent 0.45-0.49ct.. if u go more upmarket like super ideal, destinee etc. u can get 0.3-0.39ct..

That time I got my cushion Brellia 0.45 F VS1 for 2.4k. The Super ideal cut should be around the same price. With the setting, just nice under 3k.
