Hey Guys, I might be going Germany in near period for couple of days. Are the watches in Germany cheaper than in Singapore?

any one can advice?

back when I travelled to europe in 2012, most watches were cheaper. since then the exchange rate has made things unfavourable... guess you should check the AD's in singapore first!

Maybe will drop down Rolex to ask about price.
For Cartier, the price is on the website in SGD liao and my wife also told me what model she want .... if most watches are cheaper, roughly how much cheaper? Got 15% after VAT?

Just to clarify. the 12 and 13% you are referring to VAT or the discount which the store give you on top of VAT?

12% to 13% is the VAT refund on top of your negotiated purchase discount. what you can do is email some of the larger ADs to enquire in the city that you are visiting, I got a pretty good reply rate of about 50%. can enquire about the models they carry and even reserve in advance of your trip. ;)

Other brands? Rolex or Cartier? I might be getting a watch for my wife if within my budget....

I went to one of the AD who informed me that the retail price for Rolex GMT is ard $11900. However, if I were to purchase from them its going to cost $13000. Any one knows why is there this difference? Is this even legit considering I can choose not to purchase it from the AD.

It is a common practice for very popular models eg the black SS daytona for many years. Basically its supply n demand n if u not willing to pay, someone else might.

I see. Right now I still do not know which City I will be going as pending confirmation from my boss... Once make known to me, I will recce around :)

BTW are they generous with their purchased discount? Previously last year I went to Bucherer, they only give 1-3% discount only if I pay in cash. Otherwise it will be just retail price.

first time on "thicker" leather nato, still getting used to the leather between the watch caseback and the wrist. in this case its 2mmx2=4mm - sits pretty high!

My dream watch, except I like the pepsi face.
