While waiting for wife's Pam 48 to arrive, I've been toying with a future purchase of a Luminor to have a couple watch with her... End of the day I concluded of the Pams the one I have, submersible 305 is the only one I like. I don't think I will get another Pam. Well still can couple watch , still got some similarities like the big "ear" :)

Edit: add a photo. Put back the OEM rubber. Looks much more masculine and tough. Only thing it makes it not suitable for office wear, well guess can't have the best of both worlds. I realised having all OEM has a good feeling compared to aftermarket strap. May get a OEM leather.

You deleted your post?

Well I don't care if you're 8 or 88 years old uncle. Feel free to brag. I like the way you type here.

Well I am not like what you imagine me to be. I'm still very carefree and joyful. Never would I put myself in unduly worries of the world. Just upset when it is about the government comes into the picture. Else, I'm just a content individual ( with no grey hair!)

Glad you found heart in the place you belong. I have yet to find mine.

i speak to a lot of young folks - interns and such - and a lot of them have the same feeling of being displaced. eventually all of them got jobs, but they don't seem happy still. i dunno, new generation etc.

me i'm just fed up with the governement that buy second hand watch from ebay from private seller gets a 7% GST sucharge :)

same here. but I do feel some of them are using it as a form of escapism. some due to sensationalism from media......

the grass always looks greener on the other side; but they don't realize the sh*t has to be smellier for the grass to grow greener.

I guess you are right about the faeces (didn't know cannot type s.h.i.t). You being a seasoned grass eater should know better. :p

The current generation reads too much of what is on the Internet. A lot of these negative feeling is amplified, some will follow the crowd and developed such sentiments.

i'd be immediately able to see the Pam 48 + 305 together as a couple watch of a WIS.

the media here is social media so if it is escapist it is at a moneumnetal scale. regardless, this is the 21st C generation, rebellions and wars have been started through social media.

but because of social media its also easy to label all these kids as the same but its very likely that its the bunch of spoilt brats out there who are the most vocal.

Go beneath this and you will find also a very large bunch of very talented, not so vocal bunch who bear this sentiment for the very right reasons: the hopelessness of owning a home and car (not just taking loans); a lack of meaningful progression (they see in my company the foreigners who know nothing are still leaders). And of course they are seeing their fathers in the late 40's and 50's reporting into cheaper younger inexperienced foreigners when logically it should have been their jobs.

What makes it worse is that all these come from the best and brightest interns that i have worked with, and the kind that I have put in recommendations for hire.

Funnily enough i usually break the ice with my interns by talking about watches - what watch their parents wear, what they think about watches in the workplace. Its a very handy device to get people to relax and open up.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, this gentleman is also the owner of the preowned watch shop called "Monster Time" at Far East Plaza presently :)

Yes Alvin owns monster time. He was operating the monster time business from his office near holland village for a while before getting the shop in Far East plaza

While that is true that most of the online media is sensationalized and sometimes exaggerated. I am not one to subscribe to those kinds of media. What I see is what is actually happening on ground-level and what actions/policies from the past has now affected our current and possibly the future and...I do not like the look of it.

Even though I'd love to own a Rolex pepsi face.

I'd settle for a homage timepiece of the same.

Anyone? :)

Hi guys, looking at getting a omega speedy
311.30.42.30.01.005 or 311.30.42.30.01.006
Anyone know where can I get the best price in sg? Or what's the AD max discount rate?
Saw Watches of Switzerland has a Citibank Promo that can free 3 months of installment which is around 12% off list price. Thanks!
