Been facing very laggy phone the past few days. Using iPhone 6 and on 8.0.2

Like surf websites on Safari halfway cannot scroll up and down, entire phone hangs. Same for Instagram and Fb..

Anyone have this problem too?

Really irritating!

suggest that you try doing a fresh reset, erasing all contents with ios 8.0

if the problem still persists than get set replaced

Regretted updating 8.0.2 on 5S. Ipad still on 7. Lesson learned: never update new OS on previous iphone/iPad model.

How to go from 8.0.2 back to 8.0?

Need to erase all content then go back to 8.0?

There is no way to revert to previous iOS firmware.

Yes there is.

Search for iOS 8 ipsw for your device and model and download it then

Turn off Find My iPhone on your device if you have it enabled. Go to Settings → iCloud, and disable the Find My iPhone switch.

Connect your device to a Mac/PC with iTunes installed.

Open the device page on iTunes, and hold the Option key (Shift for Windows users) while clicking the Check For Update button. Find the IPSW firmware file that you downloaded in Step 1, select it, and click Open.

Nice tip, thanks! I always thought it was a hassle to switch to the US store. While im in the US store, any apps to recommend that isnt available in sg store? :D

Don't need to create new account, you can use your existing. As mentioned, remove your local credit card details first and change to US store. Once finish change back if you want.

anyway guys, this wifi issue on 8.0.2 is really on-off kind and pretty random. A very good scenario of testing it is through launching app store, under featured tab, select apple id at the bottom of the page, then view apple id. On wifi, it took 15-22 sec for the page to load, sometimes even longer. For 4G it took < 6 sec. Payment info took 8 sec on wifi, took 3 sec on 4G. I got stuck for more than 5 mins when processing postal code/telephone changes for US store account, on 4G it took < 10 sec.

I did the above test a few times at different timings and in all of them, 4G proved superior and the fault seems to lie in 8.0.2 wifi. I have no wifi issues on my laptop or other mobile devices, only on my 5S. Whats strange is that when i use the speedtest app on my 5S, there were no hiccups and i managed to clock consistent 80+mbps down/up with <10ms ping. Browsing with safari or using apps with network activity loader were slow and sometimes time out.

2. Plug your device into your computer

3. Turn off the device by holding the Sleep/Wake or Power button and swiping it off

4. Hold the power button for 3 seconds

5. Begin holding the Home button without releasing the Sleep/Power button for 10 seconds

6. Release the power button and continue holding the home button until you get a popup from iTunes that your device is recognized as being in recovery mode.

7. Now hold down the (Mac Option/Alt) (Windows: Shift) Key and click on the Restore button. In the navigation sheet that appears locate the ipsw file you just downloaded and click Choose. Again, this will wipe out all the data on it so be sure to have a backup.

8. Be patient and wait for the installation process to be completed by iTunes

9. Once the restore is completed you can select your backup or treat the device as a new device.

Here’s another important note (which Windows users should pay particular attention to; also, this is something that only applies if the user chooses to look for the desired IPSW file on the Internet). Your browser may change the IPSW file into a .zip file. For example, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer does this, if used to download the firmware bundle. This doesn’t mean it’s unusable. Instead of wasting time switching web browsers, just rename the file to end in “.ipsw” and iTunes will accept it.

Can I use this to downgrade from 8.0.2 to 8.0?
