so will the dyes mixed in the metal be "chip free"?

I think you are over paranoid. The surface will not chip under normal usage. If you are afraid then get a case or something but having a case doesn't satisfy our suggestion, you are free to not use the iPhone.

Throughout my rugged use of the iPhone 5s naked, there were dents and scratches but no chips, let alone fries.

Gonna replace my xtremeguard back protector with Healing Shield suface matte.

When glossy back use on glossy case, hard to wear it and got stuck feeling when removing the case. Something, xtremeguard get peel off easily. :s22:

I think you need to scroll down and read why I asked the question? Don't anyhow assume.

Same problem as you. My XtremeGuardz was ruined by my case. It got stuck to my case whenever I tried to remove my case.

Do share your review on the matte back SP!

I think I replied you after that. Check my earlier post because I didn't assume. I already told you it's not paint or dye and it's anodized aluminum being used since iPhone 5 and the process has improved since then.

Have applied Xtremeguard back screen protector to my IP6. Cutout is good, but the sides have popped up - same problem as with my iPad Air last time. How is Healing Shield? Does side pop up after a while?

Matte (healing shield) feels better.
More smooth when wear and remove casing. Sticks well too.
Although it does not covers top and bottom. Trade off maybe? ;)

The phone itself already has a long lasting oleo coating, glass sp serves no purpose but extra weight and bubbling
