Dear simon45op,

Please bring your motherboard to ban leong service centre.

Best regard,
JK

HI ASUS.SG,
i brought my stuff to ban leong. Turn out they dont have spare ddr4 / high power psu (single rail 60A) / cpu to test.
So they swap a brand new asus rampage v extreme to test my cpu chip.Turn out same problem. Did not boot. Error code read 00 . Read online it mean it cannot detect my cpu chip. The person also called someone and that guy also said it means cannot detect cpu chip :s8:
So the guy advise me to come again next week. On monday they will have spare cpu chip ,ram and psu(maybe) to test. I personally suspect it was the motherboard which killed/fail to protect my cpu chip. My x99 deluxe cpu socket read "pre-production rev-3 cpu socket ". To think asus will sell prototype to normal consumer . Would advise anyone with similar cpu socket to exchange for new board incase your cpu chip die too.

Will update again on monday or when they call me.

Apparently reportedly by others too
ASUS X99 Motherboard Series

Elsewhere (Asus ROG forums iirc) the Asus forum reps say this is known and a non issue to functionality.

Most bug/flaws are usually found after end user test.
During their qc test on their side maybe it pass. The sample size of users using that rev could be small and not all ppl will overclock. Because of the asus oc socket design (which is not reference intel design if i not mistaken),thats why i pinpoint that the prototype socket could be the problem. i understand that it can also be caused by other parts (perhaps intel design flawed or the corsair psu ) i dont mind if asus want take my board for further testing. If they find out that its a design flaw, they can improve on the next rev for the better of other users.
But so far asus tell mi go to ban leong instead of handling directly. If it was purchased on amazon , amazon ASUS support would have personall call the user and send the board for further testing and do 1-1 exchange of all dead products(including cpu chip ). Surprisingly, locally the support is different

I can understand your pain.

Guess all this got compounded since the budget shop which you bought from is unfortunately well known for non-service too.

YL FTW! =:p

Well, the X99 platform is still very new, life can be rather painful on the bleeding edge as I am accustomed to saying.

Last night, I finally got my test rig up and running (comparatively uneventful, fortunately). Shifted my test OS SSD over...

Straightaway, I noticed the rough edges with the BIOS, test utilities and existing apps.

USB memtest86+ hangs on multi-core runs, Asus memtweak doesn't want to work and by fluke or coincidence, Avast now flags super-pi mod as a virus which means no HyperPi testing as well.

Still, I expect all these to pass once everyone gets used to X99 and everything gets sorted out in due time like with previous new platforms. :)

small update. Ban leong reported that the board killed their brand new cpu chip also. Would advise everyone with the same batch as my X99 deluxe to sell it .:o will send the intel chip for rma myself. Ban leong service is top notch though :D

Hi Simon45op,

I believe that ASUS has also contact you regarding this. We have yet to know if it is the board issue or the CPU or other issues that causes this problem. This will need further diagnostic investigation.

However, we can assure you that X99-DELUXE motherboard is not known to create such problems in our knowledge. We have power users like HardwareZone, MacClipper, Shrek and more testing our X99 boards and there are no issues as well. We sold hundred thousands of X99-DELUXE worldwide and this is the first known case till date in Singapore.

We are arranging your board to our office for futher testing currently and will update you on the status. In the meantime, please send your CPU to Intel for RMA.

We will contact you and update you when we have more news after investigation.

Best Regards,
ASUS GLOBAL PTE LTD
