Seems USD might stop rising and JPY might stop lowering I read.

I guess it's time to change?

It was 1 to 100 yen more than 30 years ago.

We're still far away from historical low, although it's already very cheaper compared to 3 years ago when I went Tokyo.

Crazy man, hit 117. Japan in recession?
actually

it is in a healthier shape than we are getting from media and information coming out of the diet

given that Japan is looking at an ageing and shrinking workforce, GDP falls are not out of the equation.

I dun mind a weaker Yen though

Me neither. Already many things in Japan is cheaper than SG, and you have no danger of buying crap, China brands fakes products over there.

The weaker the yen, the more apparent how damn expensive SG is in terms of everything.

Sigh, what an irony, who would have thought 10 yrs ago that we sinkies could actually use our favourite tagline 'cheap cheap' in Japan??:D

Haha, well I am sure Abe won't copy SG and open the flood gates to tons of PRC, Indians and Pinoy to live in Japan to boost their GDP.

He will find himself out of a job in less than 24hrs after making such announcement, LOL

I hope so too but on my recent return from Japan i get a disgusted feeling to see a number of growing indians and pinoys there now.. reminds me of here. The worst part is they are not within the local culture and practices, bringing along with them only their nationality practices. Really pray not country follow suit our flood gate method

Don't worry. The Japs citizens will ensure such things wont happen.

Rem, their gov is not the law, see how easy their citizens can topple their premier and the whole cabinet? One wrong move and u get it
