I just passed my FTT last saturday but i was prompted the error message 'you do not have a PDL' when i tried to book TP.
Anyone encountered the same error message before? Im already taking practical lessons outside with private instructors with a valid PDL applied at SSDC counter..

Hello everyone! I just passed on first try at SSDC!

Thought I would like to share my instructor info with you guys.
Since my friend and I passed on first try with him.

Manual driving.

Name : Ah Lee
Contact: 9818 2295

Extremely nice guy.
Hardly ever scolds.
Although he would nag a little. But that's a good thing. Because when I was doing my TP, it was as if he was there giving me instructions.

His work schedule: Day time only
No admission fee. $28/hr

Other stuff: No pick ups/fetching
I did notice he teaches at AMK. But not sure with that.
Very seasoned PDI. Knows every single tip in circuit to make sure you pass.

Only reasons you might fail: You chu pattern, or take advice that are not from him.

If he ask who recommend, Just say from an NSF called Wong. :)
All the best guys!

why no $50 admin fee!?

Hey those are useful resources, though just a caveat for those searching for driving instructors. Do not choose one just because he has a high passing rate. There are some unethical bad eggs who purposely prolong your lessons and don't book the test for you. This will increase your chances of passing but at a much, much higher cost. Of course, this also means more money for the instructors.

Hi Everyone,

Anyone know of Mr Lim Soon Sim or Mr Tan Kim Seong's phone number?
Can PM me?
Its urgent as I cant contact my current private (3 Auto) instructor for 3 weeks already.
I have booked my Practical Test in mid december and he has disappeared.
I just found out that his full name is Mr Neo Lam Thong, which has prior bad reviews.

Please help,
Thanks

PDI

I passed my Class 3 on the second try. My PDI was Mr Chow Jie Seng, 9008 7777. He teaches at CDC. His teaching methods may not suit some people, as he is more focused on teaching how to pass the circuit and course (with a lot of sighting points to remember), rather than how to drive in general. He does give out tips and tricks for real life driving, but he believes that you need to have a lot of experience on the road to get better. Good for students who think that driving is an art and that you can't be an expert just by learning how to drive in school.

He would also sometimes lighten up the mood by joking a round a bit. He doesn't scold in the angry way, but more of whiny, the "Oh God Why" kind of way or by making up a joke about your mistake.

Even though he might sometimes (especially when you never messed up) play/use with his iPad, he is still very attentive. For example, he will know that I did not check my blindspot, even though he was using his iPad or whether I f-ed a segment of the circuit.

Overall, he's good for those who just want a quick way to pass (as opposed to letting you figure out how to do circuit on your own) and want an attentive and light hearted PDI.

Why are you learning both? If you have a Class 3 license, you can drive an automatic. :/

Hi there, what are his rates like? Also, does he teach only in the day or night also avail?

Thanks

Anyone needs a PDI at ubi?
Both of my friends passed at 1st attempt.

He teaches manual using Nissan sunny , mon-sun, teaches til night.
You have to meet him at the coffeeshop outside ubi.
Basically, he teaches you stage by stage, u-turn- filter lane - right turn- main road u-turn - parking - circuit.
He can converse well in Mandarin and English.
He have good teaching techniques for every stage in circuit. Step by step method, usually can get the hang of it within 2~3 circuit lesson.
He is usually fully aware of your mistake in circuit, for example turning too slowly, positioning mistake etc.

However, he do scold. but won't nag, as long as you acknowledge your mistake.
He will be very attentive if you are new learner, guiding step by step. Timing for clutching in, braking, accelerating, signal etc.

If you are really good and ready, you can book your tp on the 3rd or 5th lesson. By the 12th lessons, you can enter the circuit.

I think he charges $28/hr.

Do PM me if you think he's suitable for your learning style.
