thanks for the suggestion.
wont be shopping much at Shinjiku/Shibuya/Harajuku,just see see look look.

Will be taking last train to airport as i will most likely oversleep and wont make it on time to airport.

Is 220k yen be enough including accommodation or should i change more to be safe?

u need to book ur accommodations first, coz I wun know how much ur accommodations going to be. the other expenses such as food, transport and admission tickets can be worked out.
u can refer to the first post in this thread on how I usually budget for the trip:

rough itinerary looks good... need more details for further comments

will be hard to try to squeeze in mount Fuji (lake kawaguchi or hakone?) into the 7-days of ur JR pass. maybe put it as a day trip from Tokyo?

I've made some changes to my itinerary.

Decided to have Osaka as a day trip instead of staying so now it's

January 5th-9th: Kyoto with possible day trips to Osaka and Nara.

9th to 11th: Hiroshima

11th: Head back to Tokyo for early morning flight on the 12th.

No attractions being planned yet. Some recommendations would be helpful.

Just some questions which is mainly related to Shinkansen and JR pass: I know JR pass you just show and they'll let you in but is there any difference when you want to take the shinkansen bullet trains?

Can you just walk into the station, find the correct train and just take it or do you have to reserve tickets?

shinkansen has reserved and unreserved seats. Since JR pass covers reserved seats(which is more expensive than non reserved), you should just take advantage of it.

since u have the JR pass, y not just make a reservation since there is no extra cost?
advantage of reservation:
- guarantee a seat. unreserved car may be too full and u may end up standing all the way
- some train do not have unreserved car at all
- ensure that u are on the right car. sometimes the train split up to go different location e.g. car 1-3 go to destination A and car 4-6 go to destination B. so if u didnt pay attention, u may end up in the wrong place.

yup, those are within tokyo city.

maybe u can list down the places that interest u, then we can give suggestion on how to plan them in.

as a general guideline, u can comfortably visit 2 places in a day. e.g. harajuku+shibuya, or ueno+asakusa

Guys, i need some advise. Is 7 hours enough for odaiba. I am going odaiba on the 4th day of the trip. On the day. In the morning i will be travelling to Hotel Sunroute from Tokyo Disneyland Hotel first then afterwhich i will be travelling to odaiba. As i will be taking the Himiko Bus from Asakusa there is 2 timing 1010 and 1320. I suppose for a not a rush trip, it seems like 1320 is a better choice. but i will be left with half a day at Odaiba. Will it be enough? I will be going with my 3 year old daughter.

Thx for ur response, I saw ur japan guide link

Most likely

Akihabara
Ueno park
Skytree
Asakusa

Any other recommendation? I probably just go to shrines, parks ssrr or attend their festival. Also want to jiak around the bento n ramen

I thinking to allocate for 5-7 days trip

60-70 for a day meal
Accommodation can get below 100?

really depends on wat u plan to do there.
if u are just going to walk walk and see statue of liberty and rainbow bridge, half a day is probably enough. if u are going to visit LEGOLAND, madam tussaud etc then u probably need more time there

ueno park + asakusa + skytree can be done in a day. some ppl also squeeze akihabara in the same day coz these places are near each other. but if u are an anime fan, then better to allocate half to a full day in akihabara.

for shrines and park, u can visit harajuku for meiji shrine and yoyogi park.

there are many accommodations that are below 100. u can try business hotel chains such as toyoko-inn or super hotel. if u wan even cheaper, can consider hostels

One day or not at akihabara will depends on whether you planning to hoot stuffs or just see see look look.

If only ssll 3-4 hrs is enuff. If hooting stuffs can spend whole day. Got a lot of hidden gems there.
