I've got the MiTV2 since last month, nicely packed too & have been enjoying it. 4k resolution is awesome and after downloading other apps (xbmc, youku etc) into the TV (not Xiaomi apps), my wife/family watches the latest korean dramas & movies from the 49" TV ever since.

For the movies, it lagged initially but after a while it's smooth. Of course, if you have a 1GB wifi speed then there should be no issues.

For that awesome price & quality, it beats all the other branded UHD TVs hands down man !

Xiaomi so lousy? Now having second thoughts

Think the issue is after sales service, warranty and price is marginally less if you compare these factors. Think one guy is trying to sell his imported Xiaomi due to some dead pixels although he claim not noticeable. If you get into this kind of situation - that's is ".".

LG 49" is a good choice as it has DVBT2 tuner (which is a must now a day) and 3 years warranty.

Well, it's a risk vs rewards situation. If you're willing to take a risk to get the mitv at a significantly lower cost compared to big brands then go for it. There is practically no warranty/after sales support so if you're hit with dead pixels and such and have OCD, good luck. For absolute peace of mind, the big brands are available locally.

That said, I think there are already quite a number of mitv2 brought in without problem (pure guess though). I personally have one and have been enjoying it ever since. Has backlight bleeding but so do my computer monitors. I'm not too picky with that and can live quite happily with it. Paid slightly under $1.1k in total for it. Worth my money I'd say.

I got it through a fellow Carouseller. He's friendly & prompt in responding. He doesn't sell this specifically. He's just bringing it in together with his goods for his other business. You can get it through Taobao & use 65daigou to ship it in for you too.

Bear in mind that all this is at your own risk though. He only guarantees for the shipping for no crack or damaged panel on the TV. Good Luck !

ordered mine from taobao since I had problems ordering direct from xiaomi. Price is pretty much the same I think, with a few freebies like thumbdrive/cleaning kit/etc. Just look for the ones that had more orders, those should be more reputable.

Used oops.sg as the shipping forwarder. You'll have to email them in advance and tell them you want wooden crate packing to protect your TV. It's a small extra charge. They were very busy during the period when I ordered so communication and shipping was a little slow but they have the best prices I believe and I received my TV in about a month from ordering so all is good.
