这里的雪景很有感觉,但是超级冷冷冷,冰冰冰冷。

Last night in Sapporo, going back tmr already, quite sian.

Despite the freezing cold subzero weather, i enjoyed myself. Went to most of the places i planned to go. Happy and satisfied to fulfil another 2 of my traveling wish - to experience snow and to travel to hokkaido.

I am glad that eventually i am determined to travel to hokkaido, never give up due to the winter coldness and because it is a solo trip. Thanks to my determination or you can call it stubborness.

This is not just a holiday trip, it is also a semi retreat.

I see. I experience. I learn. I think. I reflect.

Snow is very beautiful. But it is killing me also. Cold until sneezing, had bad heachache yesterday, absorbed too much cold air and wind these few days.

Experienced all sorts of weather: light snow, heavy snow, strong wind, drizzling and a bit sunny. Icy road tht feel like ice skating, many times almost fell, and once i fell. I saw powder snow.

Walking alone in heavy snow with only a few pple along the road, dark sky and a bit lost my way was scary (and lonely).

Of cos there sure to be few problems in the trip, but these r minor, solved in the end.

Am grateful for the helpful and frenly pple i met along my trip. Be it the local, the staffs, and even the tourists. They r nice.

Not sure when i will come back japan again, but if i were to come back, i hope to go kyushu or summer in hokkaido (challenge myself for mt fuji?).

Byebye japan. Byebye hokkaido. I will miss u. I will keep the memories in my heart.

Having the same experience as you at Takayama/Shirikawago. Wore 2 thin shirt with normal jacket outside, pair of jean and dress boots. It was my first time experienced snow storm. Really unforgettable experience with lessons learnt.

Personally i think Hokkaido will be better at spring than summer a lot(Never been to Hokkaido before so far).

Have you met your prince charming at there so far :o

SO did u meet any cute Hokkaido guys over there? Got their contacts already? haha

Haha. No lah, get contact? I am not same with u, always jap meimei's, almost all your posts must mention them.
*tsk*

Nv notice the jap guys, they were passer-by to me. My eyes were focus on my trip, the beautiful sceneries, shopping stuffs, cute doggies (wun they feel cold?), kawaii penguins, etc etc, and watching my steps on how not to fall down on the icy road.

But i rem got 2 tall and really gd looking one. Looks is 1 thing, it is their helpful gesture / smiling and sincere character also. So left a deep impression on me. But now i can't rem how they looked like already. The rest of the jap guys all look the same to me, nothing special at all, no feel.

I no fancy ang mor guys one, but got saw 1 tall and really gd looking one in the bus on the way to rusutsu. He and his fren were going skiing, so cool!

Oh, i got saw few really kawaii meimei's. The rest of the jap gals all look the same to me.

You all got go Japan alone? Can survive there alone?

U try and u will know.

My first solo trip was to japan, not as pleasant as wat i imagined, partly becos i was unwell. Thn inexperienced, no sense of directions, gong gong and helpless at times.

2nd time more enjoyed, felt more relaxed, if dun mentioned the subzero weather, unhappy / unpleasant experiences. This time slightly better, but still a bit inexperienced, no sense of directions and helpless at times.

And now, i overcome sleep alone in hotel, dun let my imagination run wild.

Most jap pple r nice, but there r minority not helpful and frenly. I was struggling with my luggage and 1 bag, both r very heavy, at least to me, thn some areas got gaps and stairs, used a lot of force so xinku, yet they dun bothered to help. Only a few times got pple helped, included 1 gd looking one tht i mentioned. Tht's 1 of the worry part for me when solo travel, becos i not much energy.

Thn many times nearly close to fall down, almost grab onto the pple, the jap pple stood nearby me, they also dun bothered. But got once, a tourist helped me, not the local.

There r some expert solo travellers here, u can ask them for valuable advises.

For me, is struggling to survive, hehe. But it is all the experiences, got gd got bad.

If u nv try, u will nv know. :)

Becos u no layers enough. From wat u described, of cos freezinggg cold!!

The bottom i wore 3 layers still felt cold. On and off i took off my gloves to take photos and things, although touchscreen gloves, still not tht useful, wah, my bare hands frozen cold until as hard as rock, numb. Wore hat my hair also very very cold. There r times i wore hat + down jacket hood to cover my hat, double, still cold.

Hmm, summer is nice becos can go furano and bei for the lavenders. I watched the travel program 食尚玩家, sha sha and butterfly went mt fuji hiking, looked so challenging. But i know my own limits. Mayb go try sg one first.

Thn plan to go hokkaido loh.

I like kyoto, nara, hakone, lake kawaguchigo and hokkaido the most. More relaxed and laidback, more feel. Tokyo and osaka too crowded, fanciful and loud, not tht like.

Haha, no. I was there for holiday trip, not to find prince charming.

Singapore is not a nice place to hike due to hot weather and humidity; never get to enjoy overall(I prefer swimming overall bah.)

I enjoyed hiking at Japan during non-summer season. Really missed the temperature at there. Will love to try fuji hiking one fine day; paragliding as well.

I am an adventurous traveler; already took couple of risks at there. Hiking wise I prefer to be done at cooling temperature with fresh air; does not need to be at Japan.

I cannot even afford to go to western countries for time being. Since there are people doing it, as well do it at once per life time.

Apologies to hijack this thread.

Is Hokkaido worth visiting in April ? If yes, will Hakodate or Sapporo be a better place to based in?

Also , the Hokkaido railpass worth getting or get the jr 7 days pass? Or just fly in from narita after touch down at narita airport?

Yes it is; close to 40 degree.

Even it is, u wun be possible to be at Fuji san during whole trip right....

japan summer is hotter than singapore:(:s22:

Of cos I know jap summer is hotter than sg, and got pple died becos of it.

Hmm, mayb I should phrase it this way, if your main objective is to hike mt fuji, it is only a short trip, and will probably base yourself on hakone/fuji area, mayb Tokyo day trip, thn their summer does not really matter much. But if u mean it is a holiday trip + mt fuji hiking, thn of cos their summer is scary.
