ASUS@SG,
20 hours and 30 minutes in
So far no wifi drops on any device
Samsung TV played a movie great with DNLA
iphone 6 plus no problems
iphone 6 no problems
ipad air2 no problems
of course other wifi devices in the backgrounds I have not tested.
USB sambra working OK
DNLA media server is still running (so far)
PS4 lag yes at this point (was ok up to this point in time), I had to go into WAN , then toggle UPnP, then click apply, and no PS4 lag at the moment, SO this is still a issue.
Still testing the rest, and I have not rebooted the router yet.
Just so all knows, I
1. erase nvram from telnet in dd-wrt
2. installed asus firmware thru web interface in dd-wrt, with a reset to factory default
3. went into asus firmware gui and did a factory default
4. configured 3-mac to IP, 2-port forward, changed time zone, added a user to sambra share, changed the ssid to a 4 alfa id no spaces, a alpha numeric WPS2 personal security to both 2.4 and 5GHz, and DYDNS thats all, nothing else was turned off or on.
I did my lag tests, and it started out at 6-8 seconds at this point, then it dropped to 4 seconds sometimes going higher. So I tried a few games----- choppy laggy!!! I could barely get a kill.
So I rebooted the router, and like usual the lag test stayed at 8 seconds.
I then installed dd-wrt and NO LAG, matter in fact I was the top player in 3 games in a row.
Asus this NEEDS to be addressed and I do not understand the reboot thing...
every time I reboot this router (or my friends, or the one before this one that I had, 3 in total) your firmware gets all screwed up, meaning, LAG, loss of wifi, everything just about, the only way to fix it is factory default or reload firmware, maybe something is staying in nvram when it should be cleared.
This never happened when I first purchased back in august. I do not know what you did with the latest firmwares but it sucks big time. I actually think its related the base or whatever that is called, because it also happens on dd-wrt (tho I have not tested that in a while with dd-wrt).
BUT the rest seemed fine, but it was only 24 hours soo..
I hope this helps and you know how to test for this?
you do seem to have some progress at least (seems).
!!Thank You!!!
I am back on dd-wrt for now.
