I was actually wondering whether its worth it to upgrade to a Nexus 9 from my N7 2012. Then my girlfriend hit me and say my N7 is basically a paper weight now, don't waste the money. :s13:

Still can't justify the use of a tablet when I'm home.

I think the speed boost is justifiable enough then you can hold on to it for donkey years. Mine is good enough for now but beyond watching movie and occasional surfing, i really can't do anything productive on it. But if you don't do much on it, i would say just keep using it until it die on you, survive for couple of months without it and see if you need it. Cos if you got a phablet you won't missed it that much. Also, waiting longer means price will drop more :D

My biggest turnoff from getting Nexus devices is no external SD card support. Of all things, Google decided to copy the worst feature of Apple.

Old Nexus devices also cannot keep up with the latest OS updates. Ask any owner of Nexus 10. Performance-wise, they'll prefer old Jelly Bean than Lollipop.

I think they do that to encourage people to use cloud more, also if u ask me i would prefer having more internal storage than microSD cos of the speed and the issues with installing apps on SD that won't work. Tech savvy people would know what to do but those that do not will blame Android for all the issues with it.

I think Kitkat has slightly better performance than JB but the battery life is certainly worse. Let's wait for 5.1 to see what will happen. My N7 2012 is rather fast now after resetting. What i like is the typing, seems lighter than KK.

I did notice a speed increase after switching to F2FS but yeah, probably also because I don't have much applications inside. Maybe I'll load it up with applications and see how it goes for me. Currently its just sitting inside my drawer. :s13:

Hahaha. If you switch to F2FS on a fresh install, it's going to be regardless. So far after i did factory reset, it's pretty fast too. There are lags but i can see it more of a problem of the bugs of lollipop cos in KK it never lag like like on a FR. Now 5.1 is rolling out let's see how it goes.

No as in using Androbench to gauge.

I believe our model ain't really suitable to go over LP. Bound to lag.

Thought the whole point of lollipop is so it can work on lower end devices. Or do they mean lower end devices of today, which are equivalent to high end devices of yesteryears :p

I would like to say so. :D

K wow I saw a 5.1 review in YouTube on n7 and it's impressive! All the slowness and lag seem gone! The multitasking now open instantly and the few apps the guy clicked open up effortlessly. Yay!

Really seems fast. He should be one of the developers if not a beta tester I suppose.

But end of the day, its flashed brand new so I would prefer to see performance after the tablet is half full.
