Somehow I find that even with 2GB RAM for a tablet still not enough. Even when running a few apps on my stock MiPad, frequently come across reloading launcher.

the problem lies with the MIUI.

try rooting it and flashing it with CM11, and you'll see a difference. CM11 is still based on kitkat though.

Is not the amount of ram. Is the ram management by Miui, very inefficient. Some low end Andriod phone even run at 512M with reasonable speed.

Can confirm. My MiPad is very laggy. I suspect it is also due to the Nvidia K1 processor. Like when I open up a game, it will lag for awhile before being playable. I suspect it's the system waiting for the processor to get up to speed. Or sometimes when I return to the home screen from an app, need to wait for the launcher to load.

Anyway, I'm sure you all experienced this. When opening a youtube video, the first few seconds of the video will lag.

Any links to show step by step instructions how to load CM11? Thanks.

If you are using iPhone 6+, don't you think a tablet with a 7.9" screen is pointless? It's not much bigger than your iPhone. Might want to consider a slightly larger tablet to differentiate from your phone :)

Tablet and phone usage is quite different. Some applications also work differently.

Tab s is selling at $379 with free gift. Does not see a point to get $299 MiPad with all these free trouble shipped with the product.

You are right. But the MiPad is an Android tablet afterall. And as you probably know, Android tablets don't have that many apps that are optimised for the larger display. Most apps are still stretched-out phone apps that don't make use of the extra screen real estate.
