tried using the viewqwest TV box to watch some PPS (Or is it PPTV) drama and it run perfectly. Can go until very clear.

Tried using Mele TV box and it is still as slow as my previous Singtel. Is there some VPN setting I need to enter in Mele (as i remember something about freedom VPN).

Viewqwest Zphone modem is also a router? That mean i don't have to put another router in the living room as Viewqwest gave me a router free when I sign up. I can put that router in my bedroom then

Updated. To be fair the tech supervisor Joni called me and explained things. He seems to have very good technical knowledge compared to the technician. I accept his explanation and he say he will send a guy over on Monday to solve the problem. At least this Joni guy is good. Hope this problem will be solved on Monday

I also coming from Singtel... been 0 problem with singtel but just want to try VQ as so called highly recommended by some of my friends.
Hopefully my 2nd appointment next week wont have any problem... otherwise i would have just keep extending my singtel contract instead :s13::s13:

Hi, my SH fibre contract is finishing and i am considering to switch over to either VQ or MR. For VQ it's a bit pricey however if it is stable all the time, i wouldn't mind paying the money. Has anyone encountered any issues example billing etc.? I only have 1 more open net port now available so i have to make the decision properly if not next time has to install a new access point.

for the billing issues, u have to let others tell u about it, there are indeed some issues with their billing team.

The zhone router only have basic functions like port forwarding, ip pool address. If u want better 1, use ur own router.

I too came from SH after years and years of freebies (iPod Classic, laptops, etc.) + network issues. My advice? Do consider switching to VQ. Personally, I've been lucky enough to not have encountered major issues throughout my time with VQ, but you can find more feedback on VQ's Facebook profile.

Unlike SH, VQ doesn't leave their customers behind on grandfathered plans. When VQ upgrades their plans (increasing DL and UL speeds), they do the same for their existing customers. I signed up in June when VQ was offering 300Mbps DL for the most basic tier and was informed via email that I would get a free upgrade to 600Mbps DL in November while still paying the same amount too :D #YayVQ!

TL;DR: Signed up with VQ last year June, and am a happy customer

The Aztech FGxxx routers have special VLAN tagging that will only work on SingTel in router mode, unless you use it as an access point (you will need to disable the DHCP server on the Aztech router)

Great to hear from another SH user! SH frankly speaking is not that bad for my experience. I am often attracted by their promotion instead of freebies, for my current contract, they gave me a promotion of free 6 months so i only have to pay from then onwards. However, when starhub's network works its okay but when it's unstable, it gets quite irritating. Definitely considering switching to VQ, should i wait for some IT shows where they bring up more freebies/promotion before i sign up? My SH contract ends this july. Furthermore, that means they activated your 2nd opennet port since the 1st one was already used by starhub? Means from now on if you decide to switch to another ISP again you will have to install a new opennet access point

Oh dear, i wouldn't want to have any issues regarding the payment side especially if they charge more than they should

I registered for a 2nd port activation first as my contract wasn't up and my OpenNet appointment was set so it would coincide nicely with my contract termination date. Once everything set up from OpenNet, VQ came and activated the port from their end.

Once assured internet access, I went down to StarHub and returned them the accessories (they let me keep the Huawei modem, collecting dust). I can't recall clearly but I think StarHub has terminated the first port and that I can use that open port for a new ISP in the future...?
