[u are too early for Osaka Kyoto and Tokyo. but u can consider going nikko. u can refer to this to see when and where to go
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2014_when.html]

[dunno.. the last time I went, I just buy on the spot.]

3) my flight is at 0930 in narita airport. is it possible for me to reach airport by 7am by public transport? or should i stay overnight at airport the night before?
[no need to stay overnight. there are keisei trains from ueno and narita express from Shinjuku from as early as 5+am]

4) should i stay in osaka and make day trips to kyoto or should i stay seperate hotels? and kyoto enough for day trips?
[both are ok. it is only 30min by normal train from Osaka to Kyoto.
I personally prefer to stay in Osaka all the way to avoid the hassle of changing hotel. staying at 1 place also give the flexibility to change plans as and when I want, eg. if raining, then just go shopping in Osaka and visit Kyoto another day. Osaka also have more things to do at night.]

5) any recommendation to where to stay in these respective places below 100 per night?
[lots of hotels are less than 100per night for single room. can check out business hotel chains such as toyoko-inn and super hotel.]

6) if possible anyone nice enough for a sample itinerary please?
[can refer to this thread for trip reports:
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/japan-271/compilation-trip-reports-3158981.html
there are also many itineraries in this thread that u can refer to.]

thanks alots. i really really have no idea how to plan this japan trip. so much to do but budget kind of tight

see comments above

Osaka (2)
Kyoto (3)
Himeji + Kobe (1)
Nara (1)

u have more than 2 weeks which is enuf to cover the places u have mentioned. do get a 7-day JR pass to cover the shinkansen to osaka/kyoto and back.

some areas in hakone is currently out of bound due to volcanic activities. do monitor the situation and see if it is safe to go nearer to ur travel dates.

Hi

Anyone know if 22 November(Sunday) is a public holiday in Japan?

Cant seem to book a decent price hotel in Nagasaki. Most of them are already fully booked...

how many days are u planning for each place? reason i ask is to see if u can fit hakone, osaka and kyoto within the 7-days of the JR pass.

part of the transport to hakone can be covered with the JR pass, so if u can fit those places within 7 days, then u can do hakone -> kyoto/osaka -> tokyo.

if not then just get the 2/3 days hakone pass and travel to hakone from tokyo. in that case, maybe u will want to head straight to osaka/kyoto

[u can put nipponbashi and den den town together with dotonbori and bic camera on day 4 coz there are all in the namba area.
u may want to visit Yodobashi Camera at Umeda as well. similar to BIC camera, selling electronics and toys]

Day3 -Osaka to kyoto
Kiyomizu-dera Temple
Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka Preserved District
Maruyama Park
Nishiki Market (Lunch)
Fushimi-Inari-Taisha Shrine
-Any where for dinner in kyoto?

[may be too rush to visit so many places in the morning]

Day4 - Osaka
Ferris Wheel
BIC Camera
(Any other places to slot in ?)
DOTONBORI 道頓堀-At night
[which ferries wheel u referring to? if it is the one above Hep5, then shld visit it on day 2 together with umeda. if it is the Tempozan, it is at Osaka bay, beside the aquarium, so can do it in day 2 as well.]

do advise if this sequence is ok?
not sure if there is enough time for Day 3 Kyoto
thanks

some comments above.
I suggest visiting Kyoto again on day 4 morning and afternoon, then return to Osaka to visit namba in the evening to night. coz there are quite a lot to see in Kyoto, such as going to Arashiyama

u can visit kappabashi for restaurant related products. with shops selling fake display food, food packaging, utensils etc. it is just a short walk from asakusa or ueno.
or u can go jinbocho for books. lots and lots of bookshops there.

how about making a side trip out of Tokyo, such as to Ibaraki?
