VoLTE - Voice over LTE.

Supported on Singtel (Clearvoice) and Starhub.

Not sure if M1 has it. :)

It will always be there once you activated the service, even if you disabled VoLTE on phone, the logo will still be there.

M1 have also. Mine is M1. :s13:

any idea where to get defender sereies otterbox for note5 in Singapore?
also like any place to buy matt screen protector, those that can fill up the whole screen. coz nowadays you go outside you buy the screen protectors is they use the previous note series and it leaves some gap at the edges of your phone.

Field Report on Broken S Pen Detection

Yup read this article as well thanks.

Not insulting anyone here, but you are underestimating how stupid people can be.

I think, lets not get into a debate of why would ppl do something like that, the issue here, regardless or whether or not they put it in the manual, is an issue of Fair Use.

====================================

Nonetheless less, to contribute on this issue.

Let me update on what happened when i brought back to service centre this morning.

Service Centre Location: 1 Commonwealth Lane #01-01
Service Date: 26th August 2015, 10:10am
Service Staff: Rowena

Passed them phone, told them it was probabaly the S-Pen issue when inserted backwards. Staff was unaware of this existing problem. Brought back to back room for servicing.

Came out 5 mins asked if i would mind a firmware reset, i told them not neccessary it should be the S-Pen Problem. She look puzzled, i said if you don't mind u pass me another of your sets i will show you.

Went back took out a Service Set, the counter staff video taped the whole thing, i took the set flipped the pen over and inserted slightly, i asked the staff to insert it herself so that she could feel that there was little to no resistance and no force required to insert it in reverse, she pushed in all the way, Pen got totally stuck, everything was on her video.

She brought the pen back to service staff behind, came out 5 mins later and confirmed that when they did managed to take the pen out the sensor was broken as well. (Funny thing is the demo set was difficult to take the pen out when inserted backwards, mine was relatively easy, probably becos i only accidently put in half way.)

Anyway they mentioned that they have no new Mobo or parts to fix yet, also when i enquired on 1 to 1 they said they don't practice at the service centre.

So they said you leave here and they try to fix and get back to me, i counter proposed that since they already broke their own set, you fix yours first :), So agreed they will, wait for parts, fix theirs, or check with management on what to do if need to do 1 to 1.

I filled in relevant forms took photo of forms and took back my phone, they will get back to me shortly.

I reiterated i do not mind waiting just do not make me pay for fixing this problem, service staff also said no worries as she has it on video herself to show how easy it is for this to happen and will discuss with the team.

Service level through out was very very good i must say. How to get mad when they let you break their own phone to prove a point .. haa haa ..

Will keep everyone updated.

And to the rest of you, don;t try experimenting also, there is totally no feedback / indentation / catch, to let you know that inserting it the wrong way is a problem.

I must say that in all my years of using smartphones and tablets with a stylus (and I have used a number starting with the Pilot 5000, but not the Note 5), not once did I ever think of inserting the stylus the other way in. Maybe I don't think out of the box enough ... lol

In any case, if Samsung wants to go out of their way to fix this, kudos to them, and I'm happy for the user. Just try not to jam the stylus into the USB port or 3.5mm audio port; not sure what else you might break! ... lol.

(Sorry, just being naughty, couldn't resist the jibe ...)

Congrats! I guess update to the latest firmware first, and since you just got it, can consider a factory reset after update. Mine was from m1, and it came with unnecessary bloat wares, thus the factory reset. :)

Try p2o mobile, got my UAG from there. Saw the 3 otterbox series: defender, commuter and symmetry

If I remember correctly it has its own screen protector. But it does affect the sensitivity. I took off the built in screen protector and replaced it with a glass one. But what a bulky case the otter box is.

I agree that few users would consciously attempt to insert the thing the wrong way, but it could happen if the user is distracted, dropped the pen and tried to insert without looking, or maybe was in a place that was too dark. The point is, why tempt fate?

The first rule of design is to assume that users will always use the product in the wrong way when given the chance. A lot more engineering has to go into designing dummy-proof products. That's why Apple demands a premium for its simple-to-use but closed products.

In my opinion, this is a major boo-boo for Samsung.

Not sure if it is just me. Previously if you have multiple apps that can open a file, eg. JPG, it will list all of the apps and let you choose to use the app once or always. Now on Note 5 it just list the apps without allowing us to choose the default. I end up having to choose the app everytime. Anyone else having this problem?

No one else encounter the above problem?? :s22:

normal users will not face such problem. if the user is distracted, he/she is more likely to drop the phone than to insert the spen the wrong way.
