That icon is voice over LTE. You can make call over 4G line.

Based on my usage pattern from Note 4, the Note 5 is just as good as it, even it may be too early to tell. :o

I have had the slow wake issue on my Note 5 since launch, probably once or twice a day, the phone would take around 5 sec to unlock and is unresponsive to any button press during this time (using fingerprint authentication).

The same issue still persist even after Friday's firmware update in the afternoon. So I decided to go ahead to do a factory reset on Friday night and I had no slow wake issues up to now. Just sharing my Note 5 experience and hope it helps fellow users here.

Maybe that's what everyone should do?
I did a factory reset right after I took the phone out from the packaging, and never encountered any issue u folks described above.

From the latest update I had the phone locking up when waking it. Cleared the cache ytd and it's been good so far. Else I will factory reset if it happens again

The VoLTE icon will only disappear after you have asked Telco to deactivate the service. You cannot disable VoLTE via phone settings. The icon will still be there if you only "disable" from phone settings.

VoLTE uses 4G connectivity to call out and receive calls. If you are at a place with weak 4G, or you do not have any 4G services subscribed, VoLTE will not work. You will have dropped calls as the calls will fail to connect. But most cases, the call will revert to 3G and you can call out/receive calls.

Note that VoLTE will only work if the person you are calling is also using VoLTE. Otherwise, the call will drop to 3G. For example, you are calling someone's mobile number and that person has VoLTE, then the call will be using 4G. If you are calling someone's mobile number and the phone is not a VoLTE-enabled phone, then your call will not use 4G but will switch to use 3G instead.

VoLTE, because it uses 4G, will have faster connection. You will dial through faster compared to non-VoLTE calls. The waiting time to hear the dial tone will be faster (almost instantaneous) and you will have better clarity over your calls.

Anybody know where to buy silver Note 5 64GB? I can only find 32GB version. Didn't know it would be so popular.

Since the latest firmware update did anyone notice that whenever the app picker pop up (open with ... and show u the available apps) it will no longer show the 'just once' and 'always' button. It will still give you the selection of apps you want to choose and once you tab the app then it will be set as 'always' for the next time.
It seems now I can no longer choose 'just once' option anymore.
So if I want to change it I have to go to settings and clear the default.
Anyone else experiencing the same?
Simple test is probably to try open a PDF file.

Just call starhub and tell them you want to remove 4G HD crystal clear voice. Please take note there are some customer service who do not know that it can be removed.
