I bought the replacement filters for Sharp Y30 from TB. They gave 2 felt-material pre-filters for every filter. Noob question, do I use 2 pieces of pre-filters or 1? The original filter don't come with these, so I'm unsure.

They also gave me half-sized pre-filters. What are they for?

Thanks in advanced.

is it for this model?
FUY30E?

Try searching no such model :(

wonder if I can get Hepa 13 for my model and whether it will fit or make it overwork...

how can those electronic stores allow us to buy Sharp air purifiers but dont sell filters? Wonder if other brands are similar also :(

Bro WRXL, can you take a picture and share how you need to make modifications for the AX40 when using customised filters from Taobao? I just received my custom filters and they seem to fit perfectly, no gaps to fill :s22: That being said, I cannot get the PM2.5 down to 0, hovers at about 5micrograms/m3 instead.

Also, there seems to be some 'herbal' smell coming from the AP when using the custom filter. What is this smell and is it normal?

Thanks so much! :D

Just cut and roll up some of the plastic packaging that came with the filter, and use a small flat blade screwdriver tip to squeeze/slot it in. Or use tissue paper.

Don't worry too much about the readings, it's not easy to measure correctly, you might need to put a container or plastic bag over the meter so as to contain more of the air. (the airflow stream is never perfect, just a wee bit of very polluted air nowadays and it'd pollute the stream).

Blueair's 303 output was measured at 8 ug/m3 in the recent china video about AP that I posted. It has a measured CADR of 263 m3/hr. Measurement done by a professional lab in Shenzhen.

Xiaomi AP has H11, 95%. Also has a measured CADR of 396 m3/hr. Measured at a pro lab in SZ also.

So it'll still work great. Just stuff something and be done with it.

As for the herbal smell, don't worry, it'll pass in a couple of days. Just use it.

The store is this one, just ALWW the guy and tell him the dimensions. But do up the depth dimension to 45mm, I believe the original is 38mm. Won't be able to use the AC filter but that's alright. 38mm will drop the airflow a bit as the media is somewhat more restrictive than original Sharp. He can also do a max of 60mm (best!), but I think your A80 cannot fit 60mm.

Try 1pc first.

Actually the filter model is Sharp FU-A420. You can see all the dimensions there. But double confirm.

Can get original ones if you want. More ex at RMB300+. But I think if customise, it'd be about RMB140. So not that much more ex. Whether or not is it truly Sharp or cheong one, I don't know.

Local is SGD109 I think.

thanks for the super quick reply. third button from the left is the filter clean indicator right? when i press it lightly, the light is still there. hmm

There are 2 icons and 2 uses, but 1 button for selection. Shift your touch a little to the right.

Just realized that the Sharp FUY30E is not HEPA filter?

Got any recommendations for air purifiers with HEPA filters that can cover 25m square (Budget below $200).

Thank you!

I just got the highly recommended Samsung A40. $260 heartpain once and hope will really work.

Btw, I have the sharp A28 AP and added 3M air cleaning filtrate. Not the one for air purifiers. Will it be equally effective?

I got it for my aircon and have some leftovers and so I cut a few small squares to put on top of the sharp filter.

Aiyo.. Didn't know need to wait one week. Hope will be faster. The plug is the same?

You can always donate one to your kids childcare centre. 😅
