Has anyone seen the steel band selling separately (without the watch) in local stores yet? I know that it has been placed on sale in Europe, but not sure whether it's sold here yet.

Officially not available in Singapore yet. Doesn't seem to exist in online stores either. Looking at the $90 price difference between the SW3 with silicon and SW3 with steelband, the metal strap standalone is not going to be cheap.

Yup, judging by the prices on Sony's UK website, we're looking at 55
pounds (~S$115).

3rd day now, haven't encountered the weird random battery drain issue introduced with the previous 5.1.1 (wear 1.1) update. Previously, I had to restart every 2 days to avoid the battery drain. Let's see how long it can go without restarting...


5th day now...guess it has been fixed...

Hi! all. am considering buying this smartwatch 3 to pair with my z3 & soon z5. Anyone can share the best place to buy the basic model at the cheapest price? Also i saw a pink band for the basic model but have not seen it today at Somerset 313. Has anyone seen the pink band anywhere? Another thing i wish to find out is i read about the ability to change watch faces on this smartwatch. I found a few custom made watch face such as the famous Mickey Mouse one from the Apple watch that someone has ported over to Android wear. How can i install this watch face?

Think you can try ask the Sony Store staff if they still have pink band or get them to check which store have it for you...

For the watch face, after you setup the watch with android wear app, just download the new watch face from playstore or install via apk and wait awhile for it to sync...android wear will auto detect new watch face and make it available for you to change it either through the watch itself or via the android wear app.

Where did you find the watch face?
If Playstore, just install it normally.
If you downloaded the apk from other website, just transfer it to anywhere in your phone and select the apk using file commander or any other file explorer app to install it.

I have done some searching online and seems that few websites list Smartwatch 3 as the Best SmartWatch.

Alternatively, the New 2nd Gen Moto360 is very nice but a bit expensive though.

Depends on personal preference and what features each individual prioritize...there is no best smart watch.

Sure, the Smartwatch 3 does not have the best display when put up against competitor, but I still chose it because it has an always-on display yet still last 2 days of battery life, transflective LCD that is extremely visible even in bright and direct sunlight, highest waterproof certification for an android wear watch, uses microusb charging cable so you do not have to bring different charger/cable, has standalone GPS, the ability to change the band including the frame of the watch, all these combination makes the watch very practical to use and it cost lest than $300.

True. Agree with you on many factors like the ability to change the band, battery can last 2 days and microUSB charging port. I dun really like those proprietary charging port too.

I did not apply any screen protector...knocked a few times on the display, but lucky no scratch yet...

Oh, I will not wear it without the Screen Protector just like my Smartband Talk with the Screen Protector attached on the screen.
