So what you mean is S$42.50/pc nett(self collect ) for the AX40?

Yap that is what I expected.
Cause customise weight will be slightly heavy than the original.

Anything have to wait final order and reaching to forwarder and get the correct answer.

But my expected wong be exit $50 inclusive delivery to SG.
for each pieces.

The 4px in 1 box, I will tell the seller made it gather together in bigger box, so the weight will reduce a lot.

Too bad this is not available for sale locally, this Dakin air purifier is so much more feature packed than typical Sharp/Samsung/LG units:

I have this. You can get it here at Daikin proshops. It might be good for when there's a H1N1 outbreak, but for the haze, honestly, don't bother.

Yes, it does capture PM2.5 (http://www.myhealthbeijing.com/pollution/finally-great-data-on-air-purifiers-in-china/), and Daikin says it's been tested to PM1.0. BUT, it's not HEPA. While typical HEPA filters are as large as 40 square feet of material, the Daikin 'pleated filter' is a piece of cloth that is maybe 4 square feet.

Also, it emits ozone 'within safe levels', but the smell is super strong. The good thing is that because it doesn't have a HEPA filter, the airflow is powerful - it even beats the Xiaomi, and it's quiet. It comes with 4 extra filters, BUT after a week of haze, you'll have to replace the filter. And each set of 4 is about $130, so you're better off getting the AX40 and taobao filters in the long run. That said, I still like it because the Daikin can quickly get rid of cooking odours, for example (partly by overpowering the smell with ozone...).

For the best bang for buck, go for the Xiaomi (powerful airflow) or the Samsung (quiet and cheap filters). I also have the Balmuda AirEngine the Xiaomi was 'inspired' by, and I have to say the Xiaomi beats it in almost every way.

Bro even tot I dint order from you, take note of the consolidated packing from seller to 4PX. Even tot the weight is well within the max allow, it may hit the volumetric portion

To add on to this:

previously I'd ordered for another fellow, also hit volumetric concerns:
OjlrD69.jpg

& in my previous post, can see how compact (until cannot compact) the seller packed the (only) 4 pieces of AX40 filers...

...

It's not (only) the dead weight, for air cargo there's a volumetric threshold as well.

So, since you doing everyone a favour, also don't want you to 吃亏。

Actually I feel for non techie ppl/sales at shop, there's a reason why they put recommended room size.

I'm not opposed to it if there's a clear guideline/rule on the calculation of "recommended room size". The problem is that each manufacturer decide for themselves the formula!

So, it's as good as plucking a number from thin air...

E.g. assuming typical HDB 2.9m ceiling
Novita NAP620 - 50m2 @ 500m3/hr - ACH = 3.45
Novita NAP501 - 25m2 @ 250m3/hr - ACH = 3.45
Sharp A80 - 62m2 @ 480m3/hr - ACH = 2.67
Sharp A28 - 19m2 @ 168m3/hr - ACH = 3.05
LG PS-R429 - 39m2 @ 318m3/hr - ACH = 2.81
Samsung AX40 - 41.6m2 @ 323m3/hr (iirc) - ACH = 2.68

And please also note that ALL manufacturers will highlight on any product marketing material the highest airflow (among all the operating speed of the AP) and biggest recommended room size, but the lowest power consumption and most silent operation noise, giving a false impression to the general public... but since "everyone is doing it", it is the norm...

For those who are not in a hurry to get the filters, might as well use cbm sea shipping.

I tot of that also; but I think have to ship like what 200 pieces of AX40 filters to hit 1CBM? On the other hand, if mix mix with personal purchases to hit 1CBM to ship over, very tricky to charge the filter buyers fair shipping fee.

I just called up FedEx, the CSO mentioned to me that the delay is caused by the traffic controller in Guangzhou, the delay was 129mins (can't remember the exact time). The parcel will leave later today and will arrive tomorrow as scheduled.

Hi Guy & Girls
Good morning
We just found the samsung AX40 each piece is around 1.5kg including box packaged.

End out the forwarder charge is around 67.5RMB = $15.30SGD what do you think?
Hepa is 120RMB = $27.08 best on currency now.

IF including the custom made 300x281x45mm hepa for overall cost to SG is total : $42.50 what do your think for this still acceptable?

Since I am still pending to ordering now.

Thanks

Each piece so heavy.

I bought 4pcs, approx 2.7kg only if i remember correctly. And of coz, for TB regulars you buy other things consolidate then lagi better.

Hehe....1 week of haze. That time i tested. 3M filtrete eectrostatic furnace filter, the highest spec one which is MPR2100/MERV13 or possiblly MERV14, it lasted me 6 or 7 weeks, but i just put it as 8 weeks/2 mths.

Yes, change from HEPA to 3M furnace, the airflow increased a lot. Efficiency in terms of 0.3 microns dropped....but never measured. 6-7 weeks i could sense my allergic rhinitis coming back in the aircon bedroom. My wife was sneezing also, who is not an allergic rhinitis sufferer.
Changed bedsheet also no use, changed out the 3M electrostatic to HEPA solved the problem.

That said, Bluerair electrostatic hybrid shd be ok...6 months thereabouts.

My hepa filter not even a month is visibly black already. Is it a good sign?(Effective or the haze is so jiat lat)

Yes...good sign.

If not, that would be in your lungs, your wife's, your young kids, your parents, your grandparents.

My riau father in law just came from the GP's. Bronchitis.
Arrived SG last monday, SG peaked 298ug/m3. Batam ferry and airport closed 3hrs due to 500m visibility, was in Straits times. His riau town 200-300m, ferry slowed down.
Shd be approx 600ug/m3 PM2.5.
Or PSI 600 thereabouts.

If next week still coughing, go xray.

Check the 2015 EL nino and haze thread in EDMW. Much more info. Most of them are legit (i dont claim all are legit).

If really 4pcs at 2.7kg that's sound good..will reduce the shipping cost :D

Thanks for your input
