I bought the 16 GB shield tv including the stand and with remote control bundle from nvidia, have say it is a pretty impressive little streaming player. I do not have a 4K tv but already it looks pretty awesome on a 1080p tv.

Playing mkx using gamestream is pretty awesome, recommend u use cat5e/6 cable instead of wireless connection.

Overall it is a little nice streaming player the whole family can play with and enjoy :)

Awesome! Have been waiting for these - H.265, VC-1, 23.976 Hz, DTS-HD MA, and Dolby TrueHD passthrough, 24-bit 192 kHz audio over HDMI and USB. With this update, SATV is now the best player for local media. Freaking YES YES YES!!! :s12:

I don't really get the hype about 23.976 support.

Is this useful for people who only uses Kodi/Netflix to stream videos?

Also, care to share what is VC-1?

Thanks

kamikaze and came back alive.
Netflix disappeared from the main screen after update. Got it back by starting from settings > apps. Then it crashed non stop. went in to clear all the cache and data files and everything is good again.

nothing odd as of now.

As for the Game Stream, it kept quoting me 9.99 Euro instead of the said 7.99 USD. Don't know how to get nVidia hub to change to USD. But nevermind, free for first 3 months and i'm not a gamer anyway.

who will kamikaze and be nvidia firmware beta tester ? :D

some users reported wash out colors after 2.0, the neflix missing is also a common problem

Rotocut

I for one and glad I came to this forum to read all the comments regarding the washed out colors. I use Netflix and Kodi a LOT, as well as youtube... I wouldn't want to have updated and have this happen to me, since I use these apps daily.

I'll hold off on the update, I'm sure Nvidia is looking into this and provide a response as soon as possible.

I updated to 2.0 and I can't view my contents anymore as my TV is not HDCP2.2 or 4K-enabled, even though all my HDMI port in my AV receiver is HDCP 2.2 compliant. Only option now is to connect directly to TV but will not get to enjoy my home theater setup, which is sad.

Anyone know how to uninstall or downgrade my 2.0 update back to it previous version of 1.4?

does your TV & AV receiver supports ARC or Optical?
If yes then you could connect Shiled to TV for picture (and to block out HDCP contents) and then output the audio through S/PDIF or HDMI ARC back to AV.

Sorry to hear that. Nvidia really needs to test their updates properly. V1.4 and V2.0 has been less than ideal. I thought that after v1.4's bricking Pro SATV incident, they would be more cautious.

Everytime an update is released, I'm always very tempted to update, but I keep reminding myself of my PC's bios update that killed my pc. Then I tell myself "if it isn't broken, don't fix it". I'm happy with v1.3 so far.

Thanks radioshack!
Unotelly works well (in comparison to PureVPN's Smart DNS offering) :)

When using Smart DNS services, Stream Games (GRID) will assign US servers instead of East Asia (Japan). It's a very minor issue for me as I do not really intend to utilize the GRID.
Hi, you mentioned that you used unotelly to get Hulu to work on the Shield TV. Is it working for Hulu apk for Android TV (latest V1.2.0) or the normal version (non android tv)?

Hi all shield tv owners,
I am planning to get one for Geforce Now. But I have tested my network,
both starhub cable and singtel fiber have a red flag at Latency,
both are at the range of 80-100ms, I'd want to know will that affect game play a lot.
Or will it be better if I switch to Republic Gaming plan? Thanks a lot:s22:
