Air purifier?

Anyone interested in a washable-filter air purifier should check this model from Korea with e-Nano film filter:

I have a similar unit (AirVax) with the electrostatic nano filter thing. Seriously, it's a gimmick. The thing is pretty useless. For one, the fan is a PC case fan, and it's supposed to be good for 33m^2. Even at full speed you can barely feel any air output. The Habanero is rated at up to 75m^2 and it's smaller than the AirVax (looks like they use the same fan, but the Habanero has a thinner filter). It might work in a max 10m^2 room.

I've been running the AirVax almost 24/7 for the past month. All my other filters started turning grey within a couple of weeks. The AirVax filters just have some dust on them. I don't know how the filters in the demo pics are so black. They probably left the machine in a smoke chamber.

Seriously, if you can get hold of a proper HEPA based machine, get one and stop looking at gimmicky machines like these (also things like the Poiema/Airdog). They *are not fit* for hazy conditions.

Buy the version with Plantower laser particle counter module. (G1 version)
ie As long as your version outputs particle counts, eg PM0.5 xxx and PM2.5 xx, it is G1.

If one is hardcore enough and suspect that high RH is screwing up the readings, give the intake air a twirl with a hairdryer first so that it's way above the dew point, and the readings should be pretty ok.

Normalise yourself.
BAM 1020 follows a strict calibration timetable routine.

China ones work, with a certain degree of "OFF" in accuracy. But still work for home use. As long as you can have a degree of reference, it' work.

It really doesn't matter if it's truly 136 ug/m3 or 126 ug/m3. You know the degree of haziness at your spot, and get a trend analysis be it you output into a program (like how Chuanz does it via s/w) or by DIY, up to you.

Home use must be cheap and sensitive/accurate/usable to a certain degree. With a certain ease of use. Else it'd be frustrating.

Keep it in high, switch on air-con to 24 deg C.

With a fresh AX40 filter, is really song......esp in this kind of prolonged + high level haze episode.

BTW, remember to air the rooms at least twice a day.
