GoogleCast not working

Did anybody's X85C's GoogleCast capability get broken after the latest firmware update?

Mine's broken, & I'd verified that my mobile device that I was casting from, is on the same network as the TV.

Yes. Switch off the tv main power supply off and on helps but then the problem will still come back.

I just want to kniw whether it is a common issue or my tv really got the problem. So far my tv also updated the latest firmware.

I noticed that if I don't diligently "exit" KODI whenever I'm done with it, the TV will become very laggy. Guess the TV is seriously lacking of CPU/RAM resources.

When this happens, I'll have to manually kill the KODI app (sometimes it hangs when exiting) or reboot the TV by pressing and holding on to the remote's power button.

Btw, have you applied the latest update that came out a few days ago?

Unfortunately. Our local x8500c version does not allow hdd recording. There is no record button on the remote too.

Not so sure but Sony has yet to activate hdd recording for the 2015 sony android tv thru firmware update.

I hope it work too!

btw. Can u check whether your tv remote will work and function properly after viewing on youtude video. Esp u keep on fast forward or rewind the clips.

Not only hardware I think in SG, license and media blah blah as SG control for such media show else MIO package and other movie packages will be cancel.

Talking about recording FTA channels which are broadcasted over DVB-T2.

Sony seems to be the only smart TV brand that doesn't allow HDD recording of these channels. Not sure if their non-Android TVs supported recording.

As for the REC button, I have mapped it to my Logitech Harmony remote.

The 65W850C Android OS doesn't respond to the button - but it does pass it on to other apps like KODI.

Not sure if other models will respond differently.

Just a resolution to my own query:

main problem: latest version of YouTube for iOS is incompatible with the 2nd-latest version of the GoogleCast Receiver app installed in the X85C:

Need to update the GoogleCast Receiver app on the X85C itself to restore casting capability. Be sure to check that your receiver app is at 1.5.something before update, & 1.6.something (or higher) after update.

Are you talking about a new update for Kodi? May I know how to retrieve it?

Was referring to the recent Android TV update.

For KODI, mine was auto-updated to 15.2 - it should be automatic if you installed via the Google Play store.

You mean through internet?

If so, verify whether the tv is connected to your home network first. As shown below:

I see...To my knowledge, there is no difference between watching normal streaming and live broadcast as both are streaming data delivered to pc or tv or other devices.

Were you able to get into the live broadcast channel? The channel here has the same meaning as the normal non-live video seen in youtube.

If so, then perhaps the site has technical difficulty, live broadcast has not started, or live broadcast has ended.

You may want to try these 2 sites which streams live 24/7:

Thanks and I have just finished the call with Sony support and they said they sony tvs dun support the feature of live broadcast of youtube even in sony 2015 andriod tv. Kinda sad for sony users and potential ones.

Haha, earlier on when I clicked on the link from hp, the firefox browser launched and gave the message. I just tested again using the youtube apps separately and searched for "sky news live" and it worked! It left me wondering.

In case if there is any misunderstanding, I used my android handphone Lenovo A7000 to test. I don't have Sony TV
