Of course. The rate given here sucks! The rate get in viet is easily same as FX, if not higher.

thanks....that's what i figured from the threads here. Heard from my frens who changed 15000-15200 in singapore past few days.... hopeful for better rates in vn tmr.

I changed around 15900 at vietnam airport. afer you exit, there's alot of money changers

Hi guys,
thinking of visiting HCMC early jan for a short getaway (around 5 days 4 night) before uni starts again, would like to ask some questions. Group of 3-4 friends. We intend to spend a few days at HCMC.
I've been to HCMC before, visited places like Cuchi tunnel, Ben thanh market, Can Tho Mekong Delta floating market, Reunification Palace etc.

Interested in visiting other parts of Vietnam, any recommendations in consideration of the above?
1. Thinking of visiting either Dalat/Nha Trang then return to HCMC
2. Also, what attractions/activities to do at Dalat/Nha Trang?
3. Transportation from HCMC to Dalat/Nha Trang
4. Any other recommendations?

Im trying to plan either BKK or HCMC for 3d2n short trip during dec/jan. Not sure if its sufficient.

Day 1
- Afternoon flight to HCMC
- Cab to hotel (probably staying around ben thanh market)
- Book 1 day tour for next morning
- Visit Ben Thanh Night Market

Day 2
- Day tour (Cu chi tunnel, War remnants, Presidential Palace and Notre Dame)
* is chinatown (cho binh tay market) worth visit?
- Saigon Square/Ben Thanh market

Day 3
- Nearest shopping mall or maybe chinatown if worth it
- Afternoon RTS

Any comments?

I ask the rate from airport yesterday was about $15450...quite a big difference from what I read here

VND FX trading at about 15750...so rate outside will be lower. Don't get at airport, get at gold shop near BT mkt. SGD is weaken bcos MAS chose to do so recently. VND is crawl pegged to USD, so USD up, VND up too.

3stars per nite abt 40sgd can get already lol ...
for 4 stars hotel also abt 60+sgd per nite
most hotel comes with bath tub
