Hmmm... if the photo issue is not fixed, then it is not worth the price and trouble to get even the single SIM in Singapore.

To be fair, it's not happening on every set. Might even be occurring on the first batches of the phone. So before you buy, just check the set by taking a few photos and checking if the left side of the image is blurred (which will be quite obvious).

if you buy from telcos, i think you can easily reject the defective.

if you go any other mobile shops, i wonder how supportive or understanding are those shops to accept your rejection?

That's what's holding me back from buying it, since I won't be signing line.

Also in my experience Singtel and M1 shops only allow customer to open 2 sets total, so one cannot keep rejecting until he gets a perfect set.

Good luck. I don't think they will exchange one to one for you even you show them defect.
don't see why they won't let u check before making payment. Kasia mobile square moby whymobile redwhite all can.

Unlike telecos, they willing to exchange for you if any defects found on the spot.
I personally bought tab s2 8". from j2. Opened 2 sets before accepting the 3rd set due to small defect on the chamfered edge. Should be able to check the defect before making payment when buying from those shops. If not don't pay.

Unfortunately, I am looking for dual SIM to replace ZenFone6 and was thinking of getting a Z5P overseas. With this news, I may get a nasty salesman overseas who may not see what I see and refuse a refund, another set or a refund.

Where can I find a demo set without the lens blur issue? I'd like to try it out.

he was being sarcastic, like implying that since we're so picky we might as well bring an entire photography studio along to test the camera :s8:

I quite like Sony and support them so much as a brand but it's quite off-putting to see how deluded some of the fanboys here can be. I like how they keep insisting that camera isn't an important feature and try to justify every flaw with some warped reasoning.

no good means no good.

I am agreed with you, no good means no good.
but nowadays you know those reviews keep comparing phone's camera unit as if it is the main purpose of buying a smartphone...
I am sick of everyone is emphasizing on the camera itself.

If you were to look at it in a logical way, there is actually not much topics about new phones with only improved but not new technology.

Hardware performance can be represented with simple numbers, same for battery life.
Most of them are running the same OS except IOS but that is only one time each year.
Every apps and function have little to no differences, not to mention games are a subjective topic.

And there is only so much you can discuss about physical appearance before everything is going in circles.

So only camera seems to be one of the most interesting topics, going with subjects of details, colors, blurs, exposure, etc.
The best part of the discussion is that photography results are mostly a subjective topic, no matter you are a pro or not.

While at it, most of them always forget the limitations of a camera phone.
That is the fun part of it. :s13:

hmm I agree , a lot of emphasis on camera performance, but these reviews also tailor their contents based on what consumers want in order to get more views.

camera, battery, screen/display quality and build quality seem to be the biggest things reviewers tackle.

also yeah of course a smartphone is a smartphone, but I think it's stupid (not referring to you haylui) to think since it's a phone it should be a phone. please that is so 1980s. it's 2015 a smartphone is EVERYTHING to the average consumer. that's why the iPhone is so wildly popular because it literally does everything well.

so of course a smartphone camera has its limitations but it's still such a joke that Sony cannot do up its camera for its own flagship phones, but continue to feed their sensors to competitors and let them overtake Sony in camera performance. it is a joke, anyone who denies that clearly has an intellectual malfunction in his/her brain.

and well, a smartphone is a smartphone. so why so many nitpicking about displays? maybe go back to 1980 with 2" TFT screen that has 100 000 colors and 320x480 resolution? or battery life, or build quality. a smartphone is a smartphone what. seriously the justifications put up here give me cancer

actually I think it's cause theres very little left to compare between phones nowadays. also, considering more and more people are using phones for pictures, it's no wonder they focus on cameras. and it's the one of the few non techies can actually compare among their peers

"waah my picture color so nice" etcetc

I realised the Singapore kiasu mentality really is simei kiasu...
