Constantly checking this thread of Kodi updates....

Don't need to keep checking. The forum said no chance it will be release by end of this year. But beta version should be out. There's teaser by MrMC showing kodi on ATV4 on his forum

I've got the Atv4... any reason why people are using apps locally on the atv to view videos when one can airplay directly from an ios device ?

I notice one can even airplay a video embedded in Google Chrome on my ipad so want to know the difference.

Thanks

So you won't waste battery on your iOS devices. Plus we use apps locally on atv to view videos on our NAS

I am expecting performance from a native app on the ATV to be smoother than running the app on my ipad and airplaying to my ATV.

Ok noted.

Assuming I have the ios device plugged in to a power source it's basically no different ?

It was discussed a while ago that if the iOS app handling the playback of the media isn't coded "properly", the airplay will be a simple?brute force mirroring of whatever the iOS device screen is displaying. Otherwise, the decoding can truly be handed off to the hardware of the AppleTV.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Infuse & flv

I downloaded Infuse Pro and found that Infuse not supporting flv format although it was stated in their release note... Does anyone noticed this? or can someone help verify this?

Loved Infuse on iOS, but I very much prefer Air Video on ATV. Much better performance, more intuitive interface and controls (10s FF and rewinds), and Infuse seems to mess up my folders, IDK why.
