Straits Times was already put to bed by the time the rate hike came out. You will get more analysis tomorrow and on the weekend.

Ya, they don't/can't report news that happen around 3-4am as their printing starts around that time and need to distribute around 5-6am already...

previously many shout that market will crash gao gao when rates go up

Recently i realised that UOB is doing alot of share buy back... May i know how does this benefit the company and does this affect retailer like us?

Buy back means less shares on open market, less liquidity. I also newbie to this lol.

I believe it means the company feel that the share price is undervalued. Or they purchase for employee benefits like stock program?

hi fellow student here. the advantage of an etf is lack of vulnerability during a crash the but the potential of capital gains is just too little at the moment.
i suggest patience and wait for a crash

my first post in hardwarezone was in this very forum asking about investment

but yes i agree with u haha about the pros/cons of etfs

anyway i think if one looks for cap gains etfs would not be high on the list so it doesnt really matters?

common for all 3 local banks to do share buy back

as they need to stock up on shares which are issued to employees
