Etf is all about slow and steady, that's why is long holding horizon. Capital gain is insignificant in the short run.

if you buy STI etf u are buying the market

market chiong u happy

market no chiong u collect the 3%+ dividends, u also happy

market drops, u buy more~ as simple as that LOL

But if market drops more than 3%, some pple not so happy.

Felix kor kor, I am very curious that why ur portfolio are having component stocks and ES3 in the sense that you are "double buying" ?

Sti etf not my long term holding
Once hit 3.2 or 3.3 like that i will sell all liao

I just betting that the market will rebound within a year

Core holding still the other 8 bluechip/mid caps

Short term wise i see "panic" buying of the sti etf

As many were waiting for a crash due to rate hikes
It didnt happen and now people are worried of missing the boat
