LG is one of a good brand, but somehow the first batch people has tough luck. RIP

IMHO, the phone is great and the MM update is impressive. Unfortunately, LG is digging their own graves with the substandard after-sales service. The turnaround time to fix the faulty phone is really not acceptable. Right now there are quite a lot of users getting 'Sudden Death" issue and we have not heard a single word from LG! Did they really address the issue? I am keeping my fingers cross.. My next phone will be a Sony, because I am not a fan of apple..

I suppose some benefit of doubt has to be given with regards to turnaround time owing to the influx of "sudden deaths" (30+ from this thread alone).

turnaround time is 1 thing but the fact that they keep quiet is disturbing. or maybe the 30+ cases here are still a statistical minority so not enough motherboards have failed yet to be deemed a 'real issue' in LG's eyes.

but there's no mention of it in tech journalism sources

maybe motherboard failures sound too ordinary, not sensational enough like backwards S Pen being stuck or bending phones

LG might not even care that much as the V10 is their current baby

Reunited with my G4 today (sent on 15th Dec).
I called them yesterday and this morning to request to expedite, got SMS in the afternoon that it was ready for collection.

I would say that 30+ cases on this thread alone is quite a huge majority of G4 users and owners here. Hmm ( I may be wrong though) ...

Having said that I believe that LG is doing its best that it can to fix sets that are affected by this issue...
