With the new year coming up, does anyone have any watch related new year resolution?

Mine is to cut my expenses enough that I be under budget enough by end of 2016 that I can buy the MM300. A tough feat considering that I'll be starting 2016 at a severe over budget lol.

1) Pay off the 0% loan that I used to buy the Ball Anniversary piece. If the final product is all good, then I might recommend the brand in future to those looking for well-built but reasonably priced Swiss watch.

2) Saving up for something good, iconic, but without a date, for visual symmetry, ease of setting and timeless looks. The Speedy holds eternal appeal, but the BBB was also a good fit...

That will be on the condition my other hobbies do not sap cash away. The urge to climb another level in portable audio is just as strong, and I really find that I keep procrastinating on that one...

Haiz, more hobbies than wonga in the wallet...

I was just wondering the only day if Ball watches are worth the price haha. I was attracted by the Racer DLC.

At the lower end of their product line, yes. In fact, at the price they charge for automatic, very hard to find other Swiss product that's not indie, and where the tritium tubes are used in a tasteful manner (not become a lightshow).

The higher end engineer hydrocarbon series is a bit more mixed. You do get that weighty, solid feel, and some of their innovations, but they start coming up against product with nicer brands/more refined design.

The special deal is more of "a test". When said watch comes, I would try to give it extended wrist time, see how much is there for the money, and also crucially, if the look is one that can work in most contexts.

first time seeing the mb&f HM1 posted here... jin swee.

more wrist shots priest :D

and your previous post in the watch thread was WAY BACK IN Year 2008!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha yeah I was in the very first watch thread I think. Spent some of the intervening years in the 'watch wilderness', before finally having the passion rekindled :s13:

Regarding the watch, it sits surprisingly snug on the wrist; you'd think given the size and shape it might give one the sensation of having a cumbersome load strapped onto the wrist.

And the raised engraving of the Double Hakken...

Hey guys I need some advice being a novice watch user. My current EA watch is wearing out and I decided to a new one for the new year and my Budget is around $1.5k to $2k +/-. May I know which reputable Brand should I consider within this price range, if possible the model as well and able to view and buy them in local watch shops like City chain or bigger ones. Planning to use it for quite some time

Was wondering if it's possible to grab a nice looking Tag Heuer with my Budget, not looking at 2nd hand ones.

Appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance :D
