This should be a 'manufacturing defect'.

Most prolly the brewer nvr properly sanitize/clean the jar/equipments.

yea might be. But i also do not rule out the possibility that maybe the product have been subjected to extreme conditions during transit to Sg etc so i try to believe that it is NOT the fault of the brewer just as yet

Might also be that it being preservative-free, mould tend to grow on it easier.

From what i have gathered from 2 others who bought " homebrewed pomades" ( not grimgrease), they told me theirs also have mould that grew after a few mths.

That means the medium for the products is water. And oil happens to be part of the ingredients in it.
