Hmm just realized that getflix actually allows BT on some of their servers: https://getflix.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/articles/204476204

I now realize that speedtest is seriously pointless and it's much better to test the speeds by simulating real life experience. As such, I tried torrenting ubuntu torrent via Hong Kong server and US Delaware Server. Also tried doing a speed test by downloading the test file provided by getflix to simulate downloading speed via browser. Below are my results:

1. Torrent.

Hong Kong: http://i.imgur.com/7hswTbx.jpg
US: http://i.imgur.com/P4D3sFV.jpg

OK-ish speed considering that this is connected via VPN. Speeds hover around 600-800kbps for Hong Kong and 400-700kbps for US.

2. Browser download

Hong Kong: http://i.imgur.com/2asF85h.jpg
US: http://i.imgur.com/OBA2FCS.jpg

Very impressive speeds here. This means that streaming HD from these servers should have little to no buffering. With Hong Kong, you can access China streaming sites too like youku and Hong Kong's own TVB. YAY.

Bonus, China speed: http://i.imgur.com/ypU5z9K.jpg

As with most VPNs, really meh. Better off connecting to Hong Kong.

3. Conclusion

Considering that this is a 30 year subscription @ $39 USD, it's a real steal. Even though what I paid for was their smartDNS, the VPN is just icing. And to provide such decent speed? Really think it's worth it
Getflix can stream china contents?

Not natively(via their smartDNS service). You will need to connect via their China VPN which is pretty crappy. Doubt can stream HD.

Go for Unotelly as there are much better in that aspect.

Targeted at different market.

Getflix is mainly for smartDNS. VPN is a free add-on. This is ideal for users like me who just wanna netflix. VPN is for streaming on the go using public wifi(stream netflix using wireless@sgx lol)

PureVPN main service is VPN. As such, their VPN services are much more user friendly. Good for users who wants to surf anonymously and at the same time, able to view geo-restricted content. Of course, you gotta pay more for it.

PureVPN subscription is also 10 years vs 30 years:http://i.imgur.com/77LIIq8.jpg

At the end of the day, it depends on what you need, mainly streaming service vs surfing securely & anonymously.

Same argument as Unotelly vs Astrill.

you bought the getflix lifetime?

netflix so many show, nothing to watch?

getflix lifetime Ending In: 3 hours
I used the trial.

Most of what's available inside, I watched before on Android via other apps already.
Netflix is quite slow in their release imo.

BTW Netflix will be launched in the coming months in SG, thus there will be no need for smartdns for it.
Not much of other purposes it has except hulu, amazon prime, bbc and pandora.

i believe Netflix in SG the library catalog won't be the same as in Netflix US due to censorship law

it is like Amazon Kindle Library for US, SG and JP all different

Every market will be different, we may have restricted titles but we may have more international ones.

You can change region with a VPN.
I changed region using Brazil, UK, America and Australia with it, still ok.
Walking dead, it's still at season 5.
If it's their own production like OTNB, then it's fast though.

Speed and reliability wise, it will be better with local netflix server for sure.
If you want to view other regions, a good VPN can do the job.
Thus it's more important for a good VPN imo.

Price of Netflix from other nations is cheaper though.
Sub from Brazil is cheaper than USA, and most likely cheaper than SG.

But Netflix isn't my thing, but i may still keep it to use for my office.

so you never get their good deal?

what about hulu?
Their lifetime deal is always available.

People in aussie were saying they were cashing out because Netflix was going to Aussie.

I took a glance at Hulu, it should be abt the same.
Not going to sub and pay so much for two services.

If you are a big fan for the 4kHD, and don't mind slower and lesser releases. Then i think Netflix/Hulu are the things to get.
