Minor defects of LCD displays occurring in any Acer Products equipped with LCD display technology, provided that there shall not be more than (4) defective pixels per million pixels on a given LCD display, and provided further that, if the display panel is divided into nine (9) equal rectangular areas, there shall be only one (1) defective pixel in the central area of the display.

You did say your dead pixel was around the centre of your monitor?

the first part of the sentence already excludes warranty coverage for 4 or fewer defective pixels, doesn't matter where those 4 or fewer defective pixels are located. in any case it's a horribly worded clause, as the second part of the sentence should logically be "there shall be more than 1", instead of "there shall be only 1".

Somehow I took that as a separate condition :s13:

For dead pixels, means you need 2560*1440*4/1e6 ~= 15 dead pixels for it to be eligible for warranty :s22:

oh wow, I misread the T&C, you are right, it's 4 per million! guess Acer must have the worst defective pixel warranty policy...

with a dead pixel there, dont think anyone would want to pay more than 700 for that monitor.

its really prominent. its just that the policy needed 3...

I felt for you bro.... Hope u get this resolved ASAP. You may try to escalate your case all the way up if you got the case number from the engineer earlier. Think if it's the centre it's really fug up.... Everytime on, see monitor can see dio liao...:(

This so called dead pixel policy is ridiculous. Why should we accept defective products? Buying a LCD screen shouldn't be a lottery....

just got a call from Acer Engineer and been told that the Acer Management have decided that the red dead pixel and BLB does not amounting to defective panel and thus no replacement for it.

Reasons:
1) Need more than 3 dead pixel if its in the center of the monitor
2) BLB is usual for ips panel..so suck it and eat it.

Another Acer predator that destroyed my day. 1st its the "gaming desktop" acer predator..and now this Acer Predator XB271hu

Time to escalate higher up or sell off reasonable and get another brand since they got so stick-in-the-mud policy for such premium product as well...

seriously suggest u speak to their higher technical managemet...worst case scenario write it on their facebook.....first how can u create another 2 more dead pixel?and 2nd BLB is usual for ips panel?which company sell BLB panel cost almost $1k and call it normal...ask him to proof it on the warranty condition...if that the case it is better to get qnix for $300++ then geting a $900++ monitor
