Cannot say which is better.. Everyone will have their own taste and opinion. I got the Brellia for its square shape and also because I know my gf liked those square shaped diamonds. There are also other people here who like the Octagon shape more.
You can also consider the ring design you want and which diamond will suit it better.

If I'm getting the Octagon, I'll be going for somthing like this. I'm seriously thinking of bringing her down to choose the Octagon or Brellia... Is it normal to bring gf to choose the proposal ring?

Depends! I brought her down bcos she alrdy know it is coming. hahah Wedding banquet also book liao so I don't need to hide or anything. but if you wanna keep it a surprise then I suggest don't bring her down. It is actually very normal to bring partner down to choose nowadays.

What's the difference with getting from private jewellers, who charge much lower vs JP?
There's alot more to it than just the carat color and clarity or whats shown on the certificate. The CUT of the diamond affects the appearance the most and naturally affects the price too. Triple Excellent doesn't mean much. The diamond can still be cut badly. Even if you get D color and Flawless clarity, if the diamond have light leakages, a G VS2 diamond will still outshine it. No matter how good the grades you get, if the cut is no good, the diamond will not look good.
Other factors to consider is the type of certificate, fluorescence, tint, etc..

Not sure if you have the scope pic and how is the HCA. But you can get the ideal cut from JP(HOH) around that price with the same spec on cert

if you haven apply for bto or settle for banquet, then dont bring her down cause ur proposal is the first step to let het knw that you want to marry her. However, if you have already applied for a bto/looking for banquet then definitely ok to bring her down. The surprise will be on d proposal date since she doesnt know when will d ring be ready. Haha. Tell the salesperson to 报大数 meaning add 1 more month to the estimated ready date. So u have one month extra to prepare. If she knows its going to be ready in 4weeks she will have anticipated and then see any special dates or if suddenly wear very nice blablabla.. u know? Lol I am the receiver but since all already book so my bf brought me down to choose the ring
We haven't apply for bro yet but have discussed about it before.. I think she is "expecting" me to pop the qn soon. In fact, she was the one who mentioned JP to me.. hahaha. Her friend got a Brellia and she said it was very sparkly and nice. I dunno if I should get the same thing or go for something different like the Octagon. I only scared when I hint and ask her, she will confirm now what I'm up to liao.. girls have super strong radar on these kinda things..

From my noob understanding,
There are different cuts even within the triple excellent range that have variations in no of facets, proportions etc
A Triple excellent rating is the equivalent of scoring an A1 in O levels
75/100 is a borderline A1 whereas 100/100 is a perfect score A1 but both are still considered A1s on the results slip though the actual appearance may differ greatly
The price difference between the different jewellers may be due to the different markups but also based on the different cuts of triple excellent they bring in
Like JP has the super ideal and solasfera which are considered more premium versions of the triple excellent
