I got this voda $40 plan at Gold Coast Airport in a convenience shop. There's this voda phone representative that is offering an extra 2gb for data. Total have 5gb.

What is beneficial it comes with 90mins to 50 countries, and Singapore is on the list.
9days uses less than 1gb. While my wife uses the optus daily plus with 500mb per day. But I find the data on optus run out pretty fast. We exceed the daily 500mb on 2 occassions.

Wow you exceed 500MB a day?
May I ask what you used your data for?
So you paid $40 and were credited with 5GB of data + overseas talktime of 90min?

500mb exceed on 2 occasion, both time when we enable hot spot for our son to use. One time is to to some school home work on the notebook. The other time he did some youtube. I know you tube uses alot of bandwidth, but exceed 500mg within an hour is shocking. But these are on the Optus Daily Plus.

AUD$40 was the Voda combo plane.yup 5gb and 90 mins overseas talktime to limited to 50 countries. Singapore is on the list.

Yeah 500MB is quite a lot of data.
Maybe there were some other downloads (e.g. app updates) running in the background.

how come become lelong already :D

vodafone and optus dont la, coverage not so good, just telstra

Says who?
I've lived in Australia and visited multiple times over the past 10 years, going on road trips across quite a large area of the country. I'm usually using Optus or Vodafone (sometimes via their resellers Amaysim, Lebara, etc) for pricing reasons, and have had very little issue getting a signal when I need it.

Yes I know Telstra has a reputation for having the widest signal coverage, but that's no reason to dismiss the other brands.

Q: You're selling/renting Telstra SIM cards and not any other, am I right?

This seem good deal!
can i check is it $2 a day be it you use it or not? or its when you start using then it deduct $2 for that day?

how much is this card when you buy from the shop?

The 'day' is counted from 00:00 to 23:59 local time. If you use the SIM card at all (SMS, call, data, etc), there will be $2 deducted from your account, and you'll be allocated that day's quota (500MB, calls, SMS, etc).

For example if you have $10 credit balance and you use it for 4 days, 1 day totally switch off your phone or airplane mode, then 6th day use it again, it should deduct total $10 from your balance.

The blank SIM card itself costs $2 and then you top it up to your required amount. Don't think you can top up $14 (for 7 days usage for example). Might be $10, $15, $20, $30, etc.
Probably will have some wastage of the credit balance.

For Optus, can you activate the SIM card on the spot or need to go online first?

If you get it from an Optus store, I believe they help you to activate it.
Alternatively I think your options are:
1) Online through your tablet/laptop (preferred)
2) Calling the customer service number and going through the process over the phone (troublesome)
